  1. im really excited to see some growth pics. Ive been contemplating putting some of these over my future 240g build. Keep us posted, looks great by the way.
  2. 100 gallon reef at 1 year and 3 months age.
  3. I was gone all day week ago and the house A/C was off and the house was closed up. Tank was at 84F. I bought a cheap clip on fan and with the cabinet open i can keep it around 80F.
  4. The Animal House is in Corvallis. Ive been there a couple times before i found The Premium Aquarium.
  5. My clown fish wanted nothing to do with my RBTA for months, then one day i was eating dinner and looked up at the tank and the clown was in the anemone. He hasnt left it since.
  6. Cruz backed out due to injury. Faber is fighting Renan Barao. The Rich Franklin fight has also been removed from the card.
  7. My wife and I would love to learn how to better use our camera, very nice of you to be offering this. I bought her a DSLR last year and i dont think it has ever been off the auto setting. But even on auto it takes way better pics than our cheapo point and shoot cameras did.
  8. Thank you everyone for all the good info.
  9. what is everone using to dose alk? Like i said, i had some success with kent super dkh but stopped using it cause it didnt seem to effect my ph. the seachem raises the ph but doesnt seem to effect alk.
  10. My calcium i dose to keep around 425. My mag stays about at 1300. So i need to get my alk up? Shouldnt it be closer to 9 then to the 6 i usually test at?
  11. no calcium reactor on this tank.
  12. before i bought the bottle of seachem ph buffer i was using kent super dkh. It worked well at keeping my dkh up where it should be but didnt do much for the ph, maybe ill switch back to that.
  13. Hi All, Im having trouble maintaining my ph for more than a day. I check it about the same time of day. usually reads 7.8-8.0 with a dkh of 6-7. I can add Seachem ph buffer and bring it to 8.2 but in a day or two it will be back to 7.8. I dont think i should be having to put that much buffer in my tank. Is there maybe a better product for ph? Or is there something else im doing wrong? 100 gallon display 38 gallon sump about 3" of sand bed 180 lbs of live rock was using reef crystals but recently switched to kent
  14. today i stood around half the day because Albany is slow for auto repair. how is the work load up north? you guys staying busy? I either need a new place to work or a new career all together.
  15. chrysler/dodge/jeep technician here.
  16. that is a good size chip. you shouldnt have a problem sealing the bulkhead with the chips being on the outside. i dont know what the chips will do structurally to than panel of glass though.
  17. if your interested in one of these digitadas i would be interested in some orange monti.
  18. ok, its been two days together. yesterday i left the lights off. not one bit of aggresion out of either one. its like they are old friends, lol. i hope im not speaking too soon but i think i got a couple good fish.
  19. love these pics, some of my favorite fish here.
  20. nice feedback. Im not worried about the size of my tank, they will be in a 240 by next spring. Im glad to here that there has been some success mixing zebrasoma species of tangs. all i have read says they will not get along. so i should proceed with caution? Thx for all the responses.
  21. i have the opportunity to purchase a purple tang. i have wanted one since just after i set up my tank. I have a good sized sailfin tang now. My question is this: will a sailfin and purple tang fight? any chance of them cohabitating at all?
  22. I have one you can borrow. Its a 1.5 in bit. i used it to cut 3 holes in .5 in glass. should have a few more cuts left in it. I get off work about 5pm.
  23. Im jealous. Sounds like an awesome fight card!
  24. finally got a salifert test kit for calcium. calcium measuring 420ppm. big difference from my api kit. been dosing for ph and magnesium, currently at 8.2ph, 9dkh, and 1250 magnesium. I have a candy cane coral that appears to be dying. could my low calcium be the cause? all other corals look good.
  25. ok, took a water sample to the lfs. tested calcium at 450. thats what i was afraid of, my api test kit is not working correctly. i tested my stored mixed saltwater and could not get a reading, just like when i test my display. going to try a salifert kit i think.
