Do many people here have pico tanks? I've been reading up on them, just curious if anyone here had some set up. Are you happy with it, is it too high maintenance? Would be a fun non sps tank or mini max tank down the road me thinks-

I'd join in but my tank's not ready yet DOH! I should really stop browsing this section until it is lol.

LOL I was joking with another member about what a sensitive situation RTBS as you say can be. It's almost like dealing with STDs. The conversation goes like this:
Wow I have redbugs now and that's right after I bought that acro from blank. Should I tell blank he gave me an RTB? He may not know he has RTBs. Should I tell others to be careful of blank because he may have an RTB? (laugh)
LOL (laugh) *eyes the room for RTB carriers*

For corals are most people putting them in a quarantine, or dipping, or just dropping them in the display tank and crossing fingers?
For a quarantine setup for smaller fish and corals would a 15 gal or so suffice with a power filter? Is the best method to drop the power filter sponge in my display sump in between uses to populate with bacteria, then when I buy something just drop the sponge in and fill with DT water?

BioPellets
in SPS
Thanks for the info everyone- @Barelycuda- I do remember reading about needing certain ratios of nitrates and phosphates for the pellets to work, and the gfo can starve out the bacteria, so that makes sense- what are you running your other systems on, gfo and carbon reactors? I've been debating on whether to pick up the bio pellets for this new tank or just get gfo and see how things go- I am assuming I could still run a carbon reactor with the pellets?

BioPellets

I was just curious if anyone here is running this and other than Phosphate/Nitrate reduction have you noticed improved coloration of sps? Do you run this without a fuge, and without a gfo reactor? I searched some and didn't see a lot of discussions on it, but maybe I am just failing at searching
