Or maybe the nem never tried eating the star and just ate the leg that the star somehow lost. (scratch)

Wow, that's crazy! I would have liked to watch how it got out, it probably looked like a scene from Alien.

Nice build! What did you use for the top of the stand?

Wth is an interceptor pill? Sounds like a clown fish got frisky? Lol
This. It's used to kill red bugs along with other pests.

What did you use to paint the inside of the frame?

Here's the link for the HOB SWC: http://www.saltwaterconnection.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=6&zenid=49fd56281eb46b647ae324a1aab49629
I bought a SWC 250 1A for my new 250 gallon tank. They are good skimmers.

Nice bird, buy some ear plugs . How old is it?
Love the bird btw. Is it a Jenday or a Sun Conure? Beautiful birds. We just sold ours this past week at the store and was heartbroken because I took it out every day to play with him.
Theirs is a sun conure, jendays have a lot more green on the wings.

Any interest in selling the halide separately?

If I may ask roughly how much in materials do you have to make that stand. Just curious because I could have made you a sweet custom steel. And I bet the cost would be about the same.
Oh man that would have been nice! Since the stand is 40" tall it won't fit through doors, so I don't know if a steel stand would have worked.

So a little update: most of the gluing and cutting is done for the frame. Today we clamped the frame together to get an idea of what it will look like. There will be support beams going across the bottom and top of the frame that are not in the picture.

I have two new in box lumenmax 2 reflectors. I don't have a ballast or bulbs, but I'd let the reflectors go cheap.

If I remember correctly they normally have two sales a year. They seem to have sales in the winter and summer, my guess is that the next one will be around January.

are these strictly for acrylic or are they safe for glass as well?
I would imagine anything that is safe for acrylic will be safe for glass.

I tried vodka for a few months and did not see any changes. Maybe I should up the dosage. I went by the chart listed on the reefkeepers site.
Anyone done any vinegar dosing? Heard good things about that as well.
With gfo, is that changed out monthly or something similar?

Vodka dosing can take more than a couple months to see results. You're going to have to dose a lot more vinegar than vodka.
Yes, you shouldn't need to change GFO anymore than once a month and depending on the quality of the GFO and the amount of phosphate you could probably get away with every couple months.
I have an unused container of BRS High Capacity GFO that I don't need since I'll be carbon dosing if you are interested in trying GFO. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/bulk-media-additives/gfo/brs-bulk-gfo-granular-ferric-oxide-high-capacity.html

I would do some form of carbon dosing. With my new tank I'll be dosing vodka. www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-08/nftt/index.php

I'm not sure' date=' I just asked on the rk2 section of the digital aquatics forum. You don't need to be logged in to view the answers.[/quote']
After some Google searches it sounds like the NET is only for the newer models, but maybe the people on the Digital Aquatics Forum have a way for it to work. Thanks for asking.

Would this work with an older reef keeper 2?

I dip, then blast with a 3000 gph powerhead to try and get the eggs, but I've always been scared it wasn't enough.
I'm sorry the clam died on you. I always try really hard to sell people stuff I know is healthy, so hopefully it didn't have something wrong with it when you got it. One thing I do know is that I could never keep shrimp with it. That clam must have tasted like candy to my shrimp because no matter what I did it wouldn't leave the clam alone. I ended up having to make little cage around the clam until I could get rid of the shrimp.
