  1. (peace) I think maybe we could agree to disagree on upscales some love it some hate it some have never been there. But we all as a club should be striving to get along with each other and sharing information to further our hobby. I think it is time for a group hug (highfive)

+1 to that, this is getting out of hand.

  2. I'm not %100 but I think some people run their calcium reactors in their sumps and they have the john guest fittings (the rodi type) on them. There is a little bit of metal in the inlet but its an extremely small ammount. If it were me I would go for it, but you might wait for someone with a little more experience chime in.

  3. All those sites look great. I like that macro rocks come pre cycled.

When adding live or dry rock to your tank you should always expect a small cycle. And if you buy live rock online there will be some die off in shipping, you should always rinse and scrub it off in salt water to remove some of the bacteria that died off in transit befor putting it in your tank.

  4. check out marco rock or reefbuilders (one of our sponsors) you can usually get a 50 pound box shipped for around $100

    Edit:

Reefcleaners, not reefbuilders. Sorry bout that. Heres a link

  5. The spectrum on the bulb you posted is only 5000k, a good start but I have found that macro grows best under a 6500k spectrum. When I was using a 5500k bulb I had tremendous amounts of cyanobacteria growing in my fuge, and my chaeto barely did anything. Since switching to the 6500, my chateo has probably quadrupled in size over the last few months. But like cuttlefish said, it could be because that since theres more water volume the nutrients aren't as potent in the water thus making it harder for your greenery to pull them out.
