Nope, a snail crawled up on the skimmer and backed it up causing a cup or two of water to leak down the wall and down the sliding glass door downstairs. So its got to go. $300 for the lighting fixture , its the $360 from ebay.

All three fish are now dead. The firefish, however, are still alive as ever. How could ich appear randomly, and kill three fish in just 3 days?
-
Would it be wise to move the Sterilizer from the fuge to pump from the DT so its getting cleaner water? I just feel like its stirring up a lot of stuff in the fuge and not being as effective.
-
Too bad. Sorry for your loss. Just a suggestion but don't go out and try and replace these guys for awhile. Get your tank settled in before you dump a bunch of money on fish. First hand experience for me.
For sure, i thought we would be good since we waited 2 months, guess not. Anyway is it possible to replace the 5 watt UV bulb with a 10 watt? And also thinking about moving the UV to pull from the tank rather than the dirty fuge. Good idea? Also what are the best way to get rid of the critters on the glass? They were all over the dead clown when i came home.
-
Got home, had to put him in the compost :(. tried feeding the remaining clownfish and tang but neither ate, just the firefish. Both look like they have less parasites on the surface of their scales, but thats probably due to the slightly warmer temperature.
-
Alright, well i'm just hoping for the best. As i left the clown was laying on its side breathing fast and the cleaner shrimp was cleaning him. Hopefully he will magically pull through. Haven't seen the tang yet, i think he's hiding out.
-
Found one of the clownfish this morning laying on its side on the bottom, he's struggling. Should i keep the lights off for a few days possibly, to help reduce stress? Is there anything i can do for them, or just wait and hope they survive? THey look like they have few to slim spots on them now.

Got my UV sterilizer set up in the fuge part of the sump, couldnt find any other spot. Have bio balls and a filter sock finally coming as well. I have been dosing with Marine Max accordingly and the affected fish have all been eating (Gumbo from RoseCity which came from a member on this forum (forgot his name, sorry)) well with added garlic. I have heard people telling me to put them in a QT tank with Malachite Green, and some PVC piping and clay pots for hiding spots for 4 weeks, and have had other people tell me to not do this because it will stress the fish even further and make the ich worse. Any final thoughts?
-
Been set up since sept 5 i think is the exact date. Do these pose a threat to anything?
-
Ok thanks for the advice. Upon looking at my tank further, i noticed white "spots" on the back wall of my tank and also some critters all over the glass walls, are these guys good? And is any of this relevant to the ich issue, don't know if these things have been here all along, and i am just overlooking.
-
Just dosed with marine max, i just got a uv sterilizer and was gonna get the tubing for it to work tomorrow, seems confusing as to how to get it to work, i got it used. ANything else i can do? i dosed the food today with garlic as well, and they ate, and have been eating like pigs.

Im going to say that it is highly unlikely she is pregnant' date=' too young. As for the naso, take it from experience, really bad idea.[/quote']
Bad idea to get the naso? Why's that? Also, how can you tell how old the clowns are?
-
-
Just picked up a Naso tang a few days ago from Rose City! He's really fun to watch and has tons of character. Here's a couple pictures of him.
Also, I have been told that because my clownfish is acting different lately, especially compared to the other clown fish (Not eating as much, and really not moving from her chosen cave which she recently adopted) could suggest that she may be pregnant. Any thoughts on this? And is there anything i should/can prepare for this if it is true. I picked up a clay pot but it is 4" in width which is the smallest i could find, and i cannot fit it anywhere in my tank with the current aquascaping.

What next?
in Fish
It's a 55g. Someone told me: it's totally fine as long as i plan on upgrading within 2 years, i can get a small blue hippo or any small tang.

What next?
in Fish
Saddles are both doing great now, seems they have settled in. I was thinking either a trigger or a tang next. Would a trigger be aggressive towards my other fish, and what negatives do they have? Also, what kind of tang would you suggest?
