Shane - I'm a noob. Tank's been up for four months. Joined this forum about two months ago. 7 of my 14 corals are from forum members. My light is from a forum member. The advice, insight and general how to is all from forum members. Digging it - appreciating it, and checking my water 3 times a week.

Looking good. Thinking of peeling the blue backing off my tank, and giving it a coat of black. What paint did you use? I've got some black latex semi gloss sitting around that I'm thinking will work.

Hi and welcome
-
Beautiful stuff. Inspiration to a noob.

Picked up a 48" fixture today (Nova Extreme Pro), the thing is the dimensions are the same as my tank - makes getting into the water for little things like feeding a little difficult.
Wanting to make a setup to hang the light, and I'm hoping to make it adjustable - like blinds - pull rope lights raise up, lower rope lights come down. (daz)
Anybody have ideas for me?

In the last three weeks my little forty gallon tank has been helped out by ideas, suggestions, advice and good old fashioned human coolness.
I trekked from Eugene to Portland today. Had to pick up loaner stuff from my Bro in Law who got married last week. Took the chance to meet a couple people from the forum who helped me out with wants and needs!
My 40 gallon is 4 months old and looks anything but empty -
Zoas and stuff from Algae,
Cloves, Zoas and a Monti cap from Grassi,
Sweet Lights from Undrtakr_00
and a lead on the lights from NoobtoSalt.
Here's what I've learned - the people on this forum like to share ideas, time, advice. I appreciate that!
So, let take a minute to share the love (oh - wait - that phrase is taken!) - How about a story about how somebody here helped you out?

Wait another week or two, put some red cellophane over a flashlight, then shine it on your tank in the middle of the night. Crazy stuff living in there I tell ya!

Looking at this makes me think "I'm such a beginner" - is it inspiration or obsession setting it? I'll let you know in a month or four.

Sweet! What's in it?

Skimmer cup gunk = foie gras on a budget.

9/26. Sounds fun.

Nice to have you!

Sweet. So as a newly paid member do I just show up or what? There's no hazing involved is there? When I was 19 I carried a log for like 4 miles - I'm so done with that hazing crap.

Sweet. My wife just got hired after a 15 month layoff. It's a relief in a lot of ways!

First step is personal interaction. Second step is repeat the personal interaction - there is occasionally a time and a place for posting the experience.

The sports game was purchased used a couple summers ago when my nephew stayed with us during the summer. It was a real stretch to let him touch the xbox. Just to make sure I've covered my bases I pre-ordered Fable 3. Most of my gaming was done pre-tank. Maybe I should I mount a flatscreen above the aquarium! And Kim - you're the one who constantly mentioned the benefits of joining (ohhh that cool banner!) now you're flashing the rolling pin? Nerd.
Algae! Sweet! See you Wednesday - thanks!

This thing is sure pretty. Wish I'd a thought about the size part *facepalm*. I'll keep it in it's little corner til it's bigger then....i don't know...maybe I'll get it a nano tank and take it to work. Softball size? Seriously?
Big thanks to many w/Pics
