i feed it cyclop-eeze and baby brine shrimp. i also add iodide, coral-vite,and strontium and molybdenum. ph, temp and alk are all good. when i got it the whole tree was blue with all blue flowers on it. now their is some blue color and very little flowers.

put me down for a frag and i would love to come by and see your set up!!

my blue sea fan is not looking good!!! is their any way to bring him back? it still has some blue on it, but not as much as when i got it! any info will help! thanks

our tank had ick and started getting velvet bateria. I learned that the white spots are the "shells" of the parisite and they seal up on the fish during the day and when the lights are off, they open/release and try to bread. In the evening when the lights go off is best time to treat the tank. we also added a uv lamp with the proper water flow(gph needed is listed with the uv lamp) to treat bacteria and parisites. we also made sure there was good water curculation thoughout the tank. the tank has been very healthy ever since. I would error on the side of caution and prevention. (we lost several fish within days of the first sign of ick, I was told that there may have been underlining issues that attacked/affected the fish once they were weakened buy the ick)

diy project here is my diy project... it is my sump/refugium for my 55gal tank...i made it out of a 10gal tank that i got from petco and bought a sheet of acrylic from home depot...divided it into three chambers. the first has my filter pad, bio balls and carbon pads in it with egg creat dividing them all... in the bottom of that chamber it has my pump for my skimmer...then to divide that one from the next i have a piece of acrylic... the tank is 12 1/2" tall so i made the top piece 8" then left a gap of about 2" then placed the bottom piece... the next chamber is the refugium made up of sand, live rock, sea weed and my heater...to divide it i placed a piece of acrylic from the bottom up about 8"...in the last chamber is my return pump... mexico sence u r going to cancun u have to check out the island next to it and it is not cozumel...its called isla mujeres...in english it means island of women....its a small island but dont let the fool u!had a blast when i went there...the snorkleing was not to bad!!! lots of fish!!! great night life... the beach was awsome...its at the north end of the island and its the only one...it is a nude beach so be ready for that...pretty much everyone speaks english and the locals were helpful and really nice!!!

the magnets i used i got for a arts and craft store.... the only place i could find them.... they r not bad but they can only hold so much weight....

its about 20" tall and about 5" wide....where the wter comes out of the pump i drilled a small hole and placed a an air tee...have a hose coming off the tee so it draws in air to makes air bubbles and it mixes with the water as it goes into the skimmer!!

hellow all! i am the guy in town... just moved here in january from Arkansas and when i moved my 55 gal tank moved with me... i did try to move all of my tank mates but nobody made it...so i had to start all over! so i have had this one up and running sence january and so far it been doing great... let me tell what im workin with... its a 55gal glass tank with 4 54 wat t5 for lighting...2 power heads but dont know what kind... an over flow box with a custom sump/refugium i made out of a 10gal tank and a hang on skimmer dont know what kind...have several kinds of coarl at the moment and will list and give pics of them later..two fish lemon peel angel and a dimond goby...a sand starfish...and two cleaner shrimp...love this forum so i will be on often!!
