  1. I had one set up on my display for about a half hour. It was way too loud.
  2. You are correct. http://www.marinelifephotography.com/fishes/goatfishes/mulloidichthys-vanicolensis.htm
  3. I believe it is some kind of snapper, but don't hold me to it.
  4. My dive partner left his memory stick here since his laptop is having issues. He wanted me to clean up a few photos from our last dive. I figured i would share.
  5. Jewelry Shops on the North Shore buy these from tourists all the time. Good way to pay for some huli huli chicken over by Malama market. Some of these shells are worth big bucks like you mentioned!
  6. That is Palythoa caesia. Some call them Pillow Zoanthids, but they are actually a Palythoa strain. I have a few cool morphs in the past. The coolest was a green oral disc when the polyps opened while the rest was the tan color. They can be fast to slow growers. I currently have a pretty slow grower in my tank now. They are pretty hardy and my mother colony has been with me for close to 3 years. Kevin http://www.marinelifephotography.com/marine/cnidaria/palythoa-caesia.htm
  7. Cool, tomorrow should be good then. I'm about to crash anyway tonight. Got to ship out some boxes tomorrow. Check out my section for a quick sneak peek at whats to come this week. k3v
  8. If i'm able to get home in time i will for sure. Aloha
  9. A couple new guys entered the display this week. I tend to pick out the beat up fish. Something about nursing them back to health and watching them get better. Chevron Tang Male Ventralis (Females are coming on the next flight in) Also some randoms pics i took... R.I.P. - Male Flame wrasse. Found up against the Vortech and he didn't make it. I'm sure the larger of the 3 females will turn male soon. Kevin
  10. Hawaiian Ding Dang PE 'True' Red PE A couple new morphs of Hawaiian PE Aloha
  11. With all these tanks you should just trade them in for a 150g. lol just playin'... wait until you move for the 150g. hehe I don't know what you have to make any suggestions. Shoot me a PM with your stock list. k3v
  12. This species is a "spearer" vs. a "smasher" so shelled crustaceans may not be the best food for them. Probably some feeder shrimp or small feeder fish are better from what i researched today.
  13. I'm just using a cheapo filter with a carbon bag. Here is a cool article i just found: http://blogs.thatpetplace.com/thatfishblog/2008/07/03/mantis-shrimp-order-stomatopoda-%E2%80%93-breaking-research-and-care-in-captivity/ http://blogs.thatpetplace.com/thatfishblog/2008/07/16/08/
  14. Not sure... I would assume for a while since they live in a hole the size of a fat graffiti marker and usually only come out to hunt. I've read a lot of people keep theirs in 10g tanks. I think i got one in the closet somewhere. I can always move it if it looks stressed. unless i sell it first. lol
  15. less than 12 hours... I have not. Is that a question or a statement? If it is a question, then yes it is. Kevin
  16. Was out diving today and figured i'd make use of a 3 gallon pico i have laying around. Snatched this guy up. Its probably about 3" max from head to tail.
