  1. I am sorry to post that I am pulled the plug on this build. I really wanted to give it a try but I just do not have the time. I am sorry to those of you that were following along. I just have to much going on right now. I did post the drivers for sale on reef central. I was also going to justice the hood but if someone offered me $100 I would take it. There is over 300 just in leds if I do not get interest I am going to put it in the attic or garbage lol I have now decided yet

I did buy some generic 120watt led reed lights on ebay. Got them very reasonable. I will do a little review thread on them when I get them. I donor like doing review treads but I could not find any customer reviews or anything on these when I was researching them.

  2. ok one last time

just called about 10 phone # in portland

    half were disconnected.........

A couple said they can get one in a week. I have been hearing this for the past 6 months from local reef stores here in medford.

let me know if you want to get rid of one or you know of a store that has one.

    thank you!

  3. Ok I am reviving this thread.

I am headed to the meeting this month at the Clownhouse and would like to pick an Achillies Tang when I am going through portland. There are never any down here so I thought I would pick one up sense I am already passing through.

can I get an updated report if anyone knows a store that has one or anyone wanting to sell one they have?

    prices would be great too.

this way I do not have to try and call every store in portland. Plus you guys know where to go.

    thank you!

  4. those are strips of copper. I wired it once with just wire and the LEDs started failing and burning out. I am thinking it was because they were over heating. So I am trying to use these as heat sinks. we will see if they work.

  5. sorry, it has been awhile. Been busy with other hobbies. Yes I have other hobbies, so shoot me. anyways I got the LEDs all done. just need to finish with the wiring and drivers. more updates to come

  6. Things are going slow but I got the over flow holes drilled.

2 one inch holes for the bulk heads.

I am going to try and silicone the over flow wall in tonight.

this pic is one hole complete and about half way through the second.

ok im going to nit pic.... hehe Good shots' date=' images are a bit grainy some slightly out of focus which could be the camera (how many megapixels?)[/quote']

    6 mega pixel

I was just happy they turned out this good.

    I did some looking

you can get that same camera on ebay for $55 that means you can get shots like this with some practice for $75. I think that is amazing.

I got discuraged because I know people are getting way better shots but they are also using $1000+ cameras and lenses.

I just don't have that kind of money

  8. my main display tank is about 20 feet way in the living room.

my plan is to plumb it into that tank so that they are on one system.

Still waiting to see what size pump I am going to need and if it is going to drain correctly.

  9. So I got the tank all sealed up.

Put it in place for now just to get it out of the way and let the silicone cure.

still have to finish building the stand. need a lot more support of course. this is just to hold just the tank for now.

once the silicon is cured I will add the overflow and finish up the supports in the stand
