  1. Think I want the 20 long you have a pm
  2. The powder I have as backup is from the feed store, for chicken coops. Maybe I will finally use it. Since they finally passed the ordinace for me to keep two chickens in beaverton, and my coop is almost done.
  3. I spray the inside of the foundation of the house once a year. For spiders and ants seems to keep them at bay. The idea of the flea collars in the vacuum is that if you suck up the adults or the babies it keeps them from reproducing. And breaks their cycle riding your house.
  4. I did look into the powders as well. Even bought some. Luckily I was able to control it before it was needed. But I do keep it as a back up.
  5. I have two dogs and a lot of yard space... I was wondering about bombing my house for fleas last year. I had a bad out break. Decided to solve organically. As far as the knats. I use apple cider vinegar and dish soap. In a small dish on the window sill. As for the fleas I put cedar chips in the dogs beds and vacuum the floors with flea collars in the bag/collection cup. I also put some more garlic in the dogs food. I agree with no caustic chemicals in the air that feeds all my precious wet pets. Because if you have to remove the dogs that transport the fleas. You should remove all the animals in the exposed radius. Just my two cents
  6. I keep my house a little cooler(67-69). So a heater is needed on my system. I can just continue using my controller and the stuck on heater. But would rather replace it. Patrick at SWF showed me the heaters he recomended sounds good, for 40 bucks. But luckily I scored two good working used ones off craigs list for twenty. Now I have one for my water making station I am working on in the garage.
  7. Parkrose has an amazing selections of fittings and tubing. Would hit there first cause its usually a one stop shop.
  8. I run all my heaters into a control box with temp probe(homeade but works well). That box will shut down the power to the heater completly at a set temperature. So running a heater with no logic built in is possible for me. Mostly looking into reliability vs cost.
  9. I have been reading the the titanium heaters are the way to go. I talked to a couple shops. They said to stay with solid state. Due to the fact that they can be mounted and run at any angle. And come to think of that there is a solid state one in my 55 fresh thats like 6-7 years old. I believe it is a marineland stealth. I will check it out and maybe try another of those since it was cheap, if I remember right. So I wont be out much if it dies.

    Heater?

So my ebo jager heater is now stuck in the on position. So my question is what heaters do you guys run. I would stick with the same(since they last the longest for me). But that company has been bought by eheim. Any recomendations will be appreciated.
  11. Further update! I got home last night to find both perculas with very torn up mouths. So I made some calls to find a babysitter. Till I can decide wich one(s) to keep. While watching the fish. I Noticed the maroon clown and the small percula hiding in the same anemone(still) and the larger percula hiding in a cave directly below the anemone. It was feeding time, and I noticed all three clowns out eating together and bringing food to the anemone(no fighting at all). They all settled back into their same spots I was pleased. I look at the tank this morning and noticed all three clowns in the same anemone with no fighting(for 15 min while I watched). So maybe my fighting is over and they have decided to be friends again. An input would be appreciated.
  12. You wanted it you got it. Looks like the Smaller of my two perculas has mated to the maroon clown. They are both laying together in the same anemone. The larger percula is hiding in a cave healing from her battles(I hope). I will try for some pics tonight. My lights are off when I leave in the morning.
  13. Thats the way it will be it will have a total of seven doors
  14. The pics are of it laying down then standing up. Kinda confusing without explanation. Once I get all my practice on this one. I will come build one for you Grassi. I need an excuse to come see your new set up anyway. I really wish I would have done it like daniks in the first place. His setup is amazing would love to see it in person some day. Next tank will be built in a wall for sure.
  15. It is a standard 90. But I am building in three shelfs on the left side with doors. Two large doors on the top and bottom of the tank. The cover is roughly 6x6x3. It should make the tank look like its built into a false wall. While still being able to slide away from wall to access the whole tank/stand if needed. But should have plenty of access for normal maintenance through the doors. It really does make sense in my head.
  16. I bought all my equip used. And over the last year have decided that I dont like the tanks stand(very strong but weathered and old), and having no hood was fine. Till I added halides. Now I have way to much light in the room. So how do I solve both of these problems without building a new stand/hood combo. Then breaking down the tank to transfer. Risking the live stock. Well here is the start to my solution...
  17. So from what I can tell by my reading, and watching the clowns. I have decided the male percula(small) has decided he is tired of not being alfa. So he has mated to the smaller maroon clown. Leaving the female(large) percula the third wheel. The bad part is when the female percula tries to get to her anemone. She gets beat up by the male percula. Who is gaurding the maroon clown who is in the anemone. It makes no sense to me either. So do I get another anemone or remove one of the clowns if so which one.
  18. Update the maroon clown is now inside(hosting) the bubble anemone on the right side of tank the smaller percula is kinda handing around there and will not let the larger percula anywhere near they have been fighting enough the large percula is showing some minor damage on her upper lip area(whitish color) wish I had a fudge right now
  19. I have every inch I can get covered with an egg crate I will have to deal with the light restriction till I get my clear plastic mesh set up but he is super cool so far Rick do you still have a Golden Dwarf Moray
  20. I think that is wise advise rick. It was more and accident this first time. I had a krill on a stick. It fell off then I picked it up and he seemed more interested if I was holding it maybe he thinks I am a tasty snack.
  21. Maybe get some crazy cross breed clowns.
  22. Yes I sure did! I have been eyeballing him for three weeks now. I finally gave in...
  23. Funny thing is at the store he would not come out of his tube now in my tank he wont go in the tube
