that might work. I could'nt find the specs there do you know where to find some specs for that or somplace local that sells it so I can see one in person? Idealy I want it to be about 6" long no longer then 12" for sure and about 2 1/2 diameter or smaller. I also would like it to be homemade. "its the challenge" and I've been unemployed since november so I'm broke and bored and thought I should find a use for all the broken crepe I tend to collect "just in case"

I thought I had the hydnaphore gone last night and oddly got excited so if anybody want to trade for it I'm game, since I got gas now. I still have the six line wrasse too. Any soft coral other than kenyas or the see-thru purple mushrooms I have enough of them. but colts xenia's or other mushrooms would be fine as well as zoas It dosent have to be much 2-3 heads even. I have lots of purples, greens and maroons. so any other colors would be real cool I forgot to check with wife about appt's this week and I also forgot to check gas gauges untill today. Sadly I'm broke So I have a Wrasse in my sump and a Neon Green Hydnaphore that I will sell for $10 each or trade for gas card or fred meyers gift card the six line will be for sell indefinitly the hydaphore is my least favorite coral in my tank but I'd keep it if I didnt need gas. I do have 2 tiny air pumps and if it looks like it works and produces ANY skimmate I will be satisfied. I'm building this all out of leftovers, broken pieces and scrap wood that is mostly unusable if I like how it turns out I will build it better

OK the stand for the tank is 6" tall 10" long and 6" wide the tank that sits on the stand is 6"x6" and 5" tall if you look at these pics http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=18521 there is room at the back right side of stand opposite the return pipe. the stand could be drilled so a skimmer go go thru it into the sump so it could be 12" tall and 2" diameter and still be well hidden. oh and the sump 4"x5" and about 4" and a smidge tall think recipe box.

exactly, just thought it would be fun. Your right I dont NEED one just wanted to make a complete miniture setup. I probley just use water from my main tank for WC.

So, I'm building a tiny tank and I want to have a tiny skimmer but I'm having a hard time seeing it in my head. I need it to be small really small and even though it's more novelty than anything else I would like it to work. The project is a .8 gal tank I have some pics in the tank thread. Any Ideas would be great as well as any referance to other mini pico tank builds.

I'm building a .8 gallon tank with hood and stand and a 6 oz sump/ref. Hopfully I can wrap my head around a miniture skimmer about the size of a roll of quarters. So far my specs are: Tank 6"x6"x5" Stand 10"x6"x6" Hood 6"x6"x4" with 20w halogen and soon to add blue led's sump is made out of an old plastic recipe box. I no where near complete yet but here's a look at what I have so far.

This snail has a snorkel I've never seen him in my tank before.

Just wanted to share my clown guard his torch

I currently have two six lines in my tank. Both are about 4-5" one about 3/4" smaller then the other but otherwise identical (Male/Female?) They have been together for at least 4-5 months (before I bought the tank) and have always been good citizens. they leave all the corals, inverts and fish alone. they just take turns playing follow the leader. But, recently my Clowns have been gaurding their torch coral very closely being very aggressive and acting like they want to breed. Well the wrasses think its great fun to tease the little male clown by swimming back and forth just outside the reach of the torch coral untill he gets so mad he comes out and bites one of them. (It is really funny just, not to the clown) I was wanting to find my wrasses a new home just so my clowns would calm down and breed. But by hearing everybody elses experiances its sounds like that might be a challange.

I would like to trade nearly anything (no aptatia or mojo) for 2 Six Line Wrasses and a Yellow Tail Damsel. My False Percs are trying to breed and they are being pests. I'm not sure how to catch them yet. How can I build a trap.

I think I'm gonna take off my socks and go bare foot, I like no algae

How should I clean my sock filter? or is it best just to replace them? where's cheapest place to buy them?

I would also like to get rid of three small kenya (2x 3" 1x 1/2")and a small red mushroom with blue spots.(smaller then a dime). Trade for anything or donate to newbie wanting hardy first corals.

my sump light went out a couple weeks ago. its dark and scary in there!

ok the big one found a home I would love to trade the two smaller ones before they become a problem. trade for margerrita snail or nassiriane

I't seems to not like my candy cane no matter where I put it, The turbo finds it and knocks down. yesterday it even broke him off his base. The turbo is about the size of a pool ball and is active always hungry trade for other non-turbo snails or macro or ? also have 2 other turbos that are growing quickly but are not ploblematic, Yet! but when they they will be out to unless you want them too.

I have coral dip if that helps. I know its odd but I still kinda think my torch might be to blame. it seems to like some coral and not others. I have and have had mushrooms, kenyas, leathers, polyps near it and it seems to pick who it wants near it even if its the same as somthing else but in a different spot it leaves some and kills others. I have been told that theres no contest between the two hydnaphore always wins. but I havent lost anything to the hydophore even when a piece broke off and burned a hole straight through a kenya the kenya survived and repaired itself on the flip side my torch has killed or tried to kill lots of mushrooms and kenya (both grow like weeds so big loss) but it seems to be much more aggressive IMO I think I've decided to keep the finger I will cut it off this weekend and will toss the rest if no one wants it. I dont want it to die in my system. so if there is no impovment and no takers I will scrape it off the rock and toss the rock in my sump. oh thats hard I cant kill it.
