  1. Do we have a reporting thread somewhere or are people posting here. I have a 4x2x2 120g tank with dual 250 artemis bulbs that were about 3 months old and the lumatek elite hoods. So I was very surprised with the results I had gotten from using the meter. I have attached a picture and the numbers that I received. What was surprising was how directional the hoods that I was using were. I had heard from sunlight that they were very focused but thought that there would be more spread on them. I had very little light in the middle and now need to rearrange. I also let a buddy run a test. He had a new bulb and a 6 month old bulb and it lost about 20% in that amount of time.

  2. I think I may have OD'd on this slightly, I would recommend the every other day thing as some have mentioned. I noticed my chalices were starting to blacken so I slowed down on the usage and things came back.

  3. I just stared doing this after winning a start at the meeting. I have only been going about a week but I did find some great resources on the web. Chuck I'd like to know what you got as food because I got a couple small bottles from reef nutrition that should last a little while.

  5. How many hours are your heat packs going to last? I would say just one heat pack. I actually just lost 2 coral from it getting too hot. I used a 20+ hour heat pack in a 6x6x6 box. I insulatated it with 3/4" stryo I bought at home depot. What I shouldn't have done is taped the seams of my insulated cooler but I did put a hole on the top of the box where the heat pack was located. Three of my shipments did make it that day. Overall I wish I hadn't taped the seams and think I would have had better success. I was going to try the thinner stryofoam as well. Make sure to tape it to the top and put a bunch of new paper between it and the corals.

As far as heat packs go the wet spot sells the 20 hour ones . They ship alot at the cyclid exchange and recommend only using the 20 and 40 hour for some reason. Not sure if others have heard the same thing or not.

  6. Still working on clearing my sandbed so I can get some diamond gobies plus my tang picks at the sand and spits it on the corals.
