  1. I have the same one if it is the Coralife Aquacenter. The yellow plugs on top are run with the program buttons. The blue plugs ONLY work when the yellow plugs turn off. The four white plugs work all the time like a regular power strip and are not affected by the program buttons. So if you have your daytime lights plugged into the yellow plugs and your moonlights plugged into the blue plugs as soon as your daytime lights go out the moonlights automatically come on.
  2. I bought a single chamber BRS reactor and a 1 1/2 gallon bucket of carbon.
  3. I am looking for a ballast/power cord for a Lifegard Aquatics/Pentair Aquatics QL-25 UV sterilizer. I would be interested in a whole QL-25 if anyone has one for a good price. I think the QL-40 ballast will work also.
  4. I am very interested in a group buy but have no idea to go about it. I know I usually see group buys for sand etc. posted in the forums but have seen nothing for a filter sock buy. So if someone could tell me what to do I will be happy to get it going.
  5. What LFS has the best prices on 100 micron filter socks? I would like to get the kind that has a strap so I can hang it or the kind with draw strings. My sump does not have a holder so the very ridged rings won't work for me.
  6. I give my vote to upscales as well. The cube is awsome but the other display is very nice too.
  7. Inrix is great for up to the minute traffic I find it very accurate. Shop Savy is really cool for price comparison just scan the bar code and it gives you the best prices for brick and mortar and online also.
  8. "Just my 2 cents, but it looks like your noise might be coming from your sump. The unbaffled water coming out of your skimmer, the water flowing out of your fuge (far right chamber?) looks like it is falling pretty far." Yes Gabe a small amount of noise is coming from the skimmer output but the main noise is definitly in the 1" over flow pipe. The water that is going into the fuge is not dropping at all the output pipe is half submerged in the water so there is almost nothing for noise from there. "Couple things to try. If you can find a length of tubing that will fit down the hole you made in the cap. Then slide it up and down till you get the best results." This is something I was going to try at some point just can't wrap my head around how this makes a difference over just having the hole in the cap. "the T going to your sump should be horizontal not vertical, you will cause a toilet bowl effect by stopping water going in a downward motion" This maybe an option so basically I could eliminate one of the elbows and give the water a more straight path. So your saying I should have my ball valve going East/West rather then North/South after the T on the fuge side and just a straight pipe going into the skimmer section? "The water is to high above the durso pipe. slow the pump down until it sits half way on the elbows and see if the sound goes away." I was wondering if this may be a problem but I think with it riding as high as it is it is actually quieter in the overflow section because the water is only falling 2".
  9. Hope you guys and gals can help me with this. I have done a bunch of research on the web to try and figure this out on my on but have not been able to totally solve the noise issue so thought I would post here for suggestions. Maybe I am expecting to much from this standpipe but it is still to loud for me as it is right behind my couch I just set up my 72 bowfront and added a home made Durso stand pipe in my built-in corner overflow. I have a 1" drain with a 3/4" return drilled in bottom of tank. I have followed the direction for the Durso by making it out of 1 1/4" schedule 26 pvc. I had to shorten the street ell so it would fit in the overflow and it has a cap with a hole drilled for air. Under the tank I have 1" pvc for drain with a tee to divert some water to my fuge section because for the tee and ball valve the end of my drain pipe is under water there is no way around that. I have 3/4" pvc for my return line that is hard plumbed right onto my Mag drive 9.5 pump. I started with a very small hole but then I got the constant rise and fall of water in the overflow and the toilet flush/gurgling noise that goes with it. So I made the hole bigger and now the water level is constant in the overflow and the flushing/gurgling is gone. I read that the water level is supposed to be about in the middle of the ell but mine runs quite a bit higher then that so not sure if that is part of the problem or not. The problem I am having is the noise of the water flowing through the pipes is just loud not real sure how to describe it. Maybe I am expecting to much but from what I have read it should be almost silent and mine is not. Maybe I am to close to it I don't know but I am hoping someone her has had a similar problem and can help me with mine. Also as a side issue my pump is making a fairly distracting humming sound that even a 1/2" of foam rubbur under it doesn't stop. I was wondering if having it hard plumbed is the problem because I can make it slightly quieter by holding the pvc. Any suggestions?
  10. marineandreef.com I found they have great prices but don't always have everything I am looking for. Free shipping on orders of $150 and nothing is excluded even the biggest light system.
  11. I am looking for a canopy for my 72gl bowfront with lights would be great without is fine also. PM me with price. Thanks
  12. Just the hoses and a pump for the skimmer are all you need to get this up and running. You don't even need the ballast for the VHO right away it has plenty of wattage without it.
  13. 70 gallon acrylic tank with built-in overflow and two drilled returns all with bulkheads. Dimentions are 48"x18"x18" with few minor scratches. Comes with sump, large skimmer, and return pump. Lighting built into the hood includes 2 175 watt metal halides 20k , 2 PC 96 watt each 50/50 bulbs that are brand new turned on only once to make sure they work and 2 VHO T12. No ballast for T12 but working ballasts for MH & PC. Hellolights has T12 ballast for $32. Asking $450
  14. I have an awesome pulsing xenia that is starting to spread to much. It started with one stalk and now it is two big ones about to be 5 in a couple of weeks. I don't want to get rid of any (yet) I just want to move some to another part of my tank. My question is how do I get it off of the rock so it won't grow back in that spot and how do I attach it to another rock in a different part of the tank? I am affraid of being able to get it total off the rock so it won"t grow back or do I need to worry about that.
  15. I have a tank that was very scratched and I buffed it out to almot like new. I don't know how scratched your's is but here is what i did. I started with 220 grit sandpaper to take out the deep scratches, moved to 500 grit, 1000 grit, 1200 grit and finally 2000 grit. Then I buffed it with Novus Polish #3 and then #2. I did the whole tank not just spot treatment. It worked very well and looks great. I bought the polish at Tap Plastic.
  16. When you wipe the glass does the algae come off easy and float in the water like powder? Does it come right back after a few days? If so it is like what I had and it will just go away after a couple weeks. Just keep your phosphate in check. How old is your tank?
  17. I have a canister filter that has one built in. I run it when I get new fish and have not had an ich problem since doing that. I run it for about a week and a half and then turn it of until I get another new fish
  18. Sure we have to take responsibility for ourselves but in the global scheme of things we can not do it ourselves. It would take every country to do the same thing for it to make a difference. How can we as one small part of the world fix the entirer problem (if there was even a problem to start with)ourselves? It can't be done by one country and unless the rest of the world commits to the same thing as we are then nothing will change except our ecomony for the worse.
  19. We are one small part of the world just by us making these changes and ruining our ecomony will mean nothing as far as a global change is concerned unless the rest of the world commits to the exact same changes as we do, which they are unwilling to do. China is the worlds largest burner of coal among other pollutants and they have said they will not commit to this.
  20. Huskerduck My tank is about 12 weeks old and does not get any sunlight at all.
