  1. Want to trade or sell a new 12mp Kodak Easy Share C143 (RED). Can also record video. Wife won it at a work function. Tried to trade it at work, but no takers. Opened it up to see the color. We don't really need 4 cameras.

    CAMERA INFO

Sells for $65 to $120 online. Would like to get $65 obo in cash or trade.

Looking for corals (sps, lps, zoas) we dont have, non-aggressive reef safe fish that will work in our tank, 2 or 4 bulb actinic VHO set up 36-48", ETC....

    Our fish:

pair of pink skunk clown fish

    pair of false Percs

    Coral Beauty

    Scopas Tang

    Naso Tang

    Tail spot blenny

    decorator goby

    Lawnmower blenny

    pair of cardinal fish

    Shrimp, crabs and snails.

  2. I would love the bulb. Are you going to the next meeting at Kim and Beths?

Does Frank still have his set? I saw he had just what you are looking for earlier today...

I just bought it from Frank. But think I need 2 more over my tank.

  3. If you want to play around with macros, you can get a cheap Raynox clip on. Ive gotten some great results using one. I'm not saying its anywhere near as good as a macro lens, but if you don't want to fork out the cash for a lens right now and want to play around with macro, I say give it a whirl. I think I got mine for like $40 from ebay when I first got my camera.

  4. I'm thinking about your set up Frank. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to want to do 4 bulbs if I do it. Still not sure if I want VHOs or T5s. But I want to know if I would even be able to notice them with my MH set up.

  5. So I was thinking about maybe adding actinics to my 240g now that we are going to have a canopy and skin. The thank is 48x48x24". It has a large lip around the top. So the hole in the top is about 36" or so. Ill post a pic so you can see the brace. I currently have 4x250w MH over the tank as my only lighting. I was thinking of finding a used Icecap 660 and running 4x36" t5s or VHOs. Would I be able to notice them while my MHs are on? Or is there a better solution to adding actinics to my tank? I thought about building another LED set up just for actinics, but its out of my price range right now to make it how I would want.

  6. A few off the top of my head. Reefit let me borrow a bunch of water jugs so I was able to fill up my 240 faster. Nate213 Let me borrow his spare MH set up while my replacement was being shipped. Culp686 helped with my stand and plumbing on the new tank. Ive had so much help from so many people, its hard to list them all. For the most part, everyone here is willing to help if they can. Also can't forget Mark driving me to seattle in his truck so I was able to pick up my tank.

  7. 1.

The main thing I have heard about LEDs is that you are limited in changing the coloration. They are cool but unlike MHS and T-5's you cannot expirment with different bulbs to get the color you want.

It depends on the LED system you get. Or if you build one yourself. I was able to dial any color that I wanted with the turn of a dial. I had the whites and the blues on different dials. Ive run LEDs and MH over my 25g cube and I got better growth and color using my cheap 250w MH vs 117w of CREE leds. Didn't get a chance to borrow a PAR meter, but the LEDs should have been higher than the MH. I just don't think think LEDs are quite there yet, but soon. My guess is that it has something to do with not having UV.

    2. For RO/DI I would try to get at least one 100gpd unit

    3. We just sold our calcium reactor. Think we're going to dose instead.

    4. We run a SWC 200 on our 240g. I would buy another SWC for sure.

    5. We run 2 seaswrils. Can't really run vortechs on our tank. The back wall is the overflow and don't want to stick them on the side. But everyone that has a vortech, seems to love them.

We have a 4x4x2' tank made by I think CPI out of Seattle. Bought it used. Love the dimensions of it. If I were to have a custom tank built, I would talk to Jason at Envisions. But the Marine Land DD tanks are also nice if you want a pre-made tank. For lighting we run 4x250w MH over the tank. It was either that, or run 2x400wMH plus VHOs. But for the same wattage, I think I get better coverage with the 4x250w.

If you ever head to Longview Wa, you're welcome to come check out our set up to give you ideas on things you want or don't want.

  8. Everyone has their camera preference. I like Pentax for quality, cost, and the number of inexpensive used lenses. Plus you can use any pentax lenses (old or new). You only need and adapter if you want an old screw in lens. Not all will have auto focus though. Plus the auto focus motor is in the body of the camera and not the Lens. You also might want to look at some older used lower MP cameras. Could save you a lot of money. I have the Pentax K100d. Its only about 6mp but have printed shots up to 16x20" with no problems. Might want to give this a read about Mega Pixels.
