  1. Well it’s been four years since I took down my 300gal in wall system due to moving to a new house. It was a nice long break to have. My best bud Brian (reef box) trying to reel me back into the hobby for some time and Jeff (cuttlefish and corals) giving me a a killer deal on a brand new Redsea peninsula 500, I got my hands wet again. 

    First of I literally  had to move part of a wall to make room for a tank. Rip floor apart and re tile to match the rest. Then my wife changed the location of tank just a bit. Lol

  2. You will be fine with extending the  cord five more feet, just make sure to size your wire correctly. That little thing is ferrite which is a paramagnetic material. A ferrite bead with a conductor through it is an inductor and so is used as a low pass filter. Typical use is for power cables to reduce electromagnetic interference.
