I have been thinking of doing the same thing. My fuge in my sump is fairly nasty and I wonder if some of my phosphate issues are coming from it. I do have a lot of unique sponges and stuff down there though. Thought it would be a good idea to just pull my entire sump out and give it a good cleaning. Let us know how it looks and if all seems good when done. I have got almost 4 years of gunk built up down there.

You need to go with the "every other" Windows theory. My computer programmer sister explained the logic behind it, but im not that big of a geek. XP rocked, vista blew and windows 7 is amazing. I have yet to hear anyone that has liked the beta of windows 8. I will skip 8 for sure.

The bbq place on 117th(503) right before the good will always has a large variety of pellets. About 17 bucks a bag I think. I have tried most the different flavors and I mostly like the hickory, mesquite and alder. All the pellets are mixed with alder any ways.
The guy I found is out by 5 corners. "phills grills" is his business. Nice old guy. He had some bags of pellets sitting with all his stuff so Im sure he sells them as well.
I tried bear mountain, and a couple other brands and didnt care for them. In the winter I could not get them to get anywhere near as hot as the traeger brand pellets.

Funny, I went out today to grill up some hot dogs for lunch and my pellets would not ignite. Got into it and found out my Hot rod had finally gone out. Looked on the traeger website for the closest dealer and found a place 5 miles from my house. 35 bucks. Showed up and its a older guy that has a BBQ business out of his garage. Had all the parts there. Super nice guy, looked retired and said he had been selling treager stuff for 15 years or something. Got home, swapped it out in about 10 minutes and blammo, worked like a charm. I suggest making sure you clean out the inside at least once a month. My hot rod(the heating element) was pretty toast. Was happy it was a cheap fix. First issue I have had with mine in 5 years. Every gas grill I owned before I had to replace or replace most the parts after at least 2 years.

If you have never done a beercan, beerbutt chicken. Do one. They are wonderful and only take about an hour or less. By far one of the best things I cook on a regular basis.
$650 for the little tex at costco is a smoking deal. It comes with the digital thermostat. I paid about the same 4 or 5 years ago without it and the thermostats go for around 100 bucks or so.

Make me an offer if you want something or everything.

Yeah, I am quite blown away that so many said they wont cook steak or burgers on theirs. I have yet to have a better steak. Trick with burgers is you just flip them once, really the same for steaks. Every time you open that lid you lose heat.
There is nothing better in my opinion. Had mine about 4 years now, just the little Tex. My wife didnt like pork before. She said it was to dry. Now she loves pork chops, roasts everything. If you keep an eye on Costco, the traeger guys are in there a few times a year. They have a pretty good deal on them.

bump for today.
Anyone?

So i have decided I just dont need 2 tanks anymore. So again I would like to sell my garage tank.
20gal long drilled with overflow made by Wannareef.
20 gal long sump with baffles. Sorry bad pictures, was trying out a algae scrubber so it kinda blocks the view.
250 watt DE pendant and PFO ballast. Used bulb, not sure the life on it. looks pretty good.
Little skimmer. No idea what brand. Works well but I would put a bigger pump on it.
I still have about 20lbs of LR in the tank along with 2 damsels.
I would like to get $200.00 for the whole thing. If I cant sell it as a full set up I will part it out. Perfect for a starter tank or a beginner tank for a little one trying to get started. Drop me a pm.

Still for sale.

no, i dont diablo.

Anyone pick up the BF3 premium. 4 new maps, bunch of new stuff. Pretty much COD with BF3 destruction.
-
Thanks. I will try and take a better picture. Just wondering if it had a unique name or anything.

Looks like a starry blenny to me. Welcome to the forums. Tank looks good. Give us some details about it.
-
Sent you one back.
-
I have the same tank size, and I have been running 3 250's for over 3 years now. Before I had phosphate issues my sps grew like mad.
-
A pic of some of the rock. There is more in the sump. The big rock on the right is probably 15-20 lbs.
-
wow so its just an airstone hooked up to a air pump, strapped to the mesh? Much easier than the other method that I spent working on. I will have to build one tommorrow.
-
Bah, how did I miss this thread. I have spent the last 2 days researching on all the other sites about this, but missed the UAS version. I started building the old version this weekend and ran into issues on how to mount it.
I got the screen and pipe done and then got frustrated.
Are the clear directions on the algaescrubber website for the UAS version?

You will get a million different opinions. Comes down to preference and what you an afford. I can only speak from my own experience. I used Oceanic for years and had no problems with it. Every said how great Kent is so I switched to Kent 2 buckets ago. Been pleased so far with it. Thee is a thread on reefcentral all about this(well probably 100 threads) that actually did analysis on all the brands and such. Some people swear by instant ocean.
As far as buying, some people do group buys around here. I think The Premium Aquarium in salem is doing a group buy right now. Local fish stores always have stuff in stock. I think you will find the best prices online. Dr foster and smith are pretty good. I bought Oceanic from them quite a few times. Fast shipping and anything over 50 bucks is free shipping.
hope that helps.

I have around 50lbs give or take of 3 year old "key largo" Marcorock, plus different types of LR. All has been in my garage sump, or misc tank for the last 3+ years. Fully cured. I have rubble all the way up to a couple probably 10lb rocks. I have not really ever weighed them. I need to clean out the sump to make some room.
If you dont know what Marcorock is, here is the exact rock i have, just fully cured. http://www.marcorocks.com/100poundskeylargorockfreeshippinginthecontinentalus.aspx
