  1. you could always try a pvc pipe with caps on each end and holes drilled in it. Stick a piece of shrimp in it at night time and leave it in there over night. ohh yeah, attach a fishing line to the pipe. then in the morning just pullit up with the fishing line and toss the worms. peace
  2. ok, so im guessing you paid with paypal. Now, there are several thing you can do. first, if you used a credit card that is linked to your paypal account, then call your credit card company up and tell them you didn't get the items as described and the seller won't return your emails and that you want to reverse the charges. if you had money sent from your bank to your paypal account, then you will have to file a buyer dispute with paypal. If you paid with a credit card and they reverse the charges, you dont even have to deal with paypal. paypal will actually tell the seller there is nothing they can do about it. In that case you will probably wind up with the money and the bulbs in the end, as the credit card company doesn't require you to send back the item and neither does paypal. Its kind of a loop hole with paypal. I used to sell thousands of items on ebay and there are a couple of loop holes in there system. also was there a tracking number on your package? hope this helps, Peace
  3. kinda an old post, but was thinking about getting somthing like this. why did the the intake need to be larger than 1"? how did you have it set up? Peace,
  4. dont forget that the rock sand and livestock actual takes up space inside the tank, so it wouldn't be 180 gallons in the tank. so you could probably knock a couple hundred pounds off the weight.
  5. well, i am a little tippsy right now, so forgive me. it states any sale of a controled item for the purpous of making money has to be reported. aquarium store or not. the fact is, a pump is a controlled item. many other things your lfs would by are not. some time you live is a certain juridiction that is more relaxed. once the crackheads find out your paying any money for pumps., suddenly like magic crackers, you start getting these pumps in alll day. and you like, wow, im getting such a good deal on these from the crack heads and the selling them on ebay for about 3 or 4 hundred times profit. no the cops start watching, then you get busted and more items then get added to the list the cops have. they are always updating. Okkk,,,,,,,mee go drink drink, and me go Nappy Napppy. If anyone has any more question and would like to ask, you can just pm me and ill let yhou know, that way we dont take over the general section. peace,
  6. not sure if they just mean the tank of everything. but, doesn't matter either way its a steal. if i had the cash right now, i would have bought it. Peace,

  9. are there ever any meetings or get togeathers in NE Portland.
  10. there realy only enforced when you do somthing to make them take notice, like advertise or if your selling alot of used stuff on ebay or craigslist. they watch those websites. they actual watch flea markets too. the division street coral flea market was busted about 3 or 4 years ago. then i think the one up on stark was to. here is somthing realy funny though. Lets say someone went out and stole a bunch of jewelry and other misc items and completely filled a storage unit with them. lets say all that stuff was reported stole by the ower, so if this theif sells any of it, he will get busted. the statute of limitation on stolen items runs out after 3 years. so if you store it for 3 years, after that you pretty much own it and can sell it any where. wow, now thats a loop hole.
  11. hey leonard, glad to see you found the forum. Lookin forward to hearing more.

  15. nope, this was part of the skimmer, sump and tank i sold to get my free metal halides. thx for askin though.
  16. nahh, didnt on this, but i got the metal halides for free from selling the tank, skimmer, and sump. but again, thx, for asking.
  17. actualy, I used to own a pawn shop, and have had many talks with detectives and fbi agents about this. this applies to anyone that is buying somthing and selling it for a profit. if it is regulated, then it has to be reported. It is not just for pawn shops. Look it up. so you, as a business buying and selling regulated items could get busted and fined. It actualy happens alot. You probably wont see it unless you start advertising that you buy these things, or if you start buying and selling alot of them, or if someone turns you in. have you ever brought some scrap metal down to be recycled for some cash. thats why they need your ODL. A little different than merchandise, but the same principle. Lets say, you put an ad out saying, I by pumps and motors. then you start selling pumps and motors on ebay and in your store and lots of people start selling you pumps and motors. business or not. guess what, its illegal. and its like the judge said when i got a speeding ticket. Ignorance is no excuse for braking the lawDOH!.
  18. by pumps being regulated by the government, i meant, if you want to purchase something for the intent of resale. You need a special license from the government for certain items. there is a whole book of these items. You are required to photocopy photo id from them and have them sign a statement saying it isn't stolen, then you have to fingerprint there thumb (like some banks). You then have to record the serial number and turn it into the local pawn detective. Then you have to hold it for 30 days while the item is check against a national database of reported stolen items. Pumps and motors are on that list. thats is what i mean "it is regulated by the government". but hey, the first fine is only $500. so no biggy.
  19. the fact is, most people just want this or that off of someones system. If you fork down the money for the whole system with the intension of selling off the rest of the stuff you dont want, you could probably have a chance at buying things from people selling off everything. You will probably actualy make money off it and have the things you wanted left over. everyone has the same chance at buying somthing. It's all about who wants to spend the most for it. Funny though, how is it these shops are buying government regulated items, like pumps, with out a state license. the portland pawn bureau states that pumps and motors are listed as regulated merchandise, and they are buying these items for the intent of resale and not for themselves. Just be careful, the first fine is only, i think, $500, but i think it doubles every time.
  20. ok, so my greens star polyps and my rose anenome are still a little pissed at me for moving things around. so is my frog spawn. but, heres some pictures of the new aquascape. what do ya think? BEWARE THE SKULL CAVE, I still have a few pieces to add, but I have to wait for them to cure.
  21. the tang was a little bigger, but man that would suck, i tried to stir the water up behind the rocks i couldnt move because of some corals, but saw nothing. So, either he is dead and jammed in some corner, or he is alive and well, just hiding to torment me. i moved the rock my roase anenome is sitting on, and ohh man is he pissed at me, but slowly coming back. He sucked himself all the way back into the rock. it is realy amazing how small those guys can shrivel up to.
