I'm totally in agreement about posting prices. I'd love to even know the names of what I'm looking at, since I'm a relative newbie. I think this thread has actually provided some good feedback for the local stores. If I owned a shop, I'd certainly look at this and take it to heart.

I'm just the kinda guy that waits for sales or whatever. I also try to get a bundle going. When I go to Garrett's, I'll usually say, "What can you get me for $40" or something. He's always hooks me up a little better than if I just picked this, that and whatever.

I used old sand that was rotten. I rinsed it, didn't really let it dry, and everything turned out fine.

I actually met the creator of the grills. He sold the name to some Chinese company, so they don't make them like they used to. He's going to be starting up a new brand pretty soon, I guess. Just get a cast iron skillet and use your stove

I have those same palys, and they're like weeds now. There was a little bunch on my old, old overflow that I wanted to keep, so I scrapped them off and threw them in the tank. They just kept growing and growing.

Don't forget to wash your hands fiercely. Those things can really mess you up.

I used plastidip on mine. It'll even help seal up the back seems too.

Right when I was considering doing what you did. What were the bad things about it?

I have this same species that I got from Garrett and mine's doing great.
