  1. No I still have not done anything yet to fix this. I use an auto top off that is gravity fed and always hooked up. Will this work for dripping kalk? If I add a pump to mix it once a day for 60sec. But what keeps this sediment from going in the tank when it's mixing? Thanks, Stephan
  2. I do have an auto to off. What is the formula that you use? Stephan,
  3. Thanks everyone for input, Spectra thats what I was thinking just stumped. So I would think that the magnets would have to be covered with rubber or something? How did you attach the magnets and what did you use for the extra support? I wish I could just put hooks but the way that my canopy is set up I can't go that direction. Stephan.
  4. Trying to get some ideas on making some kind of frag tray for the side of my tank inside. I was thinking of some kind of magnetic tray for easy moving and attaching? Thanks,Stephan(scratch)
  5. Sorry I think I was off on my test its at 7.79 in the morning and 8.2 at night. I do have a refugium set up running on a reverse cycle. I run my atintics 12 hours and metal halide 8 hours a day. What are some of your light cycles and what is best. thanks Stephan
  6. My PH is at 8.2 when lights are on to 7.3 when I get up in the AM and the lights are off? Is this normal? Thanks in advance!(scratch)
  7. Well I got one big piece growing on a rock already that is about 5X5" pictures below{ Clown not for trade he just likes the camera}. I also have lots of good sized frags for trade also. Mostly looking for the less aggressive stuff. Love the Acro's and zoa's. Thanks for looking! Stephan
  8. I got it from someone how had it set up for 7 years and I just moved it to my house about a week ago doing a large water change( about 1/3 to 1/2 ) due to not enough containers for the water. Salinity is 1.022-1.023, temp 78-80, 0 nitrates and the rest I hope to get tested today because the test kits that came with the tank have no instructions with them.(flame)
  9. New to this site and I have not had a salt tank in twenty years. I have lots of questions and really want to learn all that I can. This is a 70g bow front with 2X48" Actinics and 2X250w metal halide. Sump has sea weed in it and no bio balls with an Aqua clear aquatics protein skimmer. Two power heads on a wave strip. Is this a LPS or SPS tank? It seems to be a mix is that ok?(scratch) Any suggestions are welcome, Thanks for looking, Stephan http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t42/liquidglassstudio/
  10. So is this LPS or SPS? Nothing can be near them?
  11. Can someone tell me what this and should it not be by the green coral that I also have no idea what it is. Thanks, Stephan(scratch)
  12. The current top is 8" tall and does not fit the curve of the tank at all. I do have 2X4" fans and not really having a heat problem with tank water temp but as you can see the center tank support has melted from the heat. So how tall should it be? Any suggestions on a reflector? thanks, Stephan
  13. Well? I did not post what I have because it truly is bad and I think I need to start from scratch. It has two hinges on the back so the whole thing comes up. The lights are two close to the water to me also 4". But anyway
  14. Hi I'm Stephan from Portland and I just recently bought a 70g bow front reef tank from someone and have lots of questions. I've had aquariums since I was a kid and even had a 20g salt tank set up twenty years ago and man has this advanced over the years. I'm very happy withe the tank except for the canopy for the lights, which is getto tastick to say the least. the two 250w metal halides and reflector are just resting on top of the two 48" actinics about 4" above the water. Lot's of light but put together very poorly to say the least. So if anyone has any suggestions that would help. The covers for the bow front seem hard to find so I am thinking of having a friend help me build one. ( He is a carpenter by trade. ) I could use some ideas about making it easy access to the tank hight suggestions fan placement and such. Thanks in advance, Stephan. (scratch)
