Anyone know what this is? It hitchhiked on a mushroom colony a year ago. There were only a couple polyps. It has been a battle but they are looking nice now. Thanks for the help.

Awesome pics! You don't feed them??? Really? Impressive. Do you have a calcium reactor on your system? Lighting?

Thanks for the compliments. Makes a reefer feel good. First pic, bottom left is the rock flower anemone. From what I understand that morph is very rare. Last seen eight years ago!!

The lights in action. This is the Maristar over a 72 bow front. As you can see this is a bit too much light for my softies and LPS. -

Thanks for the advice on the price. Crazy how you have to give this stuff away in the end. I will sell it for $500. It is worth keeping for any less. $250? Yea dude, you shoulda bought that one. -

I am still unsure what this coral is. I am calling it a "meat coral" because it is a raging carnivore. Anyone know exactly what this coral is?
-
The coralline encrusted object you see in the mouth of the coral is a hermit crab that was attempting to steal food from the coral. Crazy huh? Rick

Thanks Hey Thanks for the reply. I am a bit surprised considering it is not stinging the surrounding zoanthids. If it starts to be a pest, I will zap it. Thanks again. Rick

Can anyone identify the green tentacled, hot pink centered soft coral in the center of this picture? Any ideas. Looks like some sort of anemone. Thanks, Rick

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for voting for my picture of Dirty Frank. He is a bad mutha. (rock2) I thought the picture of the hermit crab getting stuck in the branching coral was going to win. That was a great picture. A lot of picture submissions for July were great. Thanks again. I attached another picture of Dirty Frank. Rick S.

Greetings, I have a Maristar light hood and Galaxy Ballast for sale. I also have two double ended HQI bulbs. Here are the details 1. The Maristar hood. I only used this for three or four months. I used them sparingly as they were way too bright for my tank. Maybe six hours a day. The hood accommodates 2X250 double ended HQI bulbs and 2X54 watt T5 bulbs. The hood is in very good condition. You will need your own hanging system. http://www.specialty-lights.com/maristar4.html This link will take you to the website where I purchased the hood. I paid $700. I will sell it for $550. 2. The Galaxy Ballast. I used this ballast for the same three or four month period and only used it for six hours a day. This is a nice ballast. http://www.specialty-lights.com/902495.html This link should take you to the website where I purchased the ballast and give you all the essential information. I paid $300. I will sell it for $225. 3. The Bulbs. I have two Ushio 14K 250 Watt double ended bulbs. They were only used for a couple months and burned for six hours a day. I used these less then the hood and ballast because I started off with 10K and wanted to try 14K. Still way too bright for my needs. I paid $150. I will sell them for $100. Not a bad deal overall. All you would need to complete the set up is a couple T5s and a hanging system. My name is Rick and I live in Eugene Oregon. You can email me at rscovi@hotmail.com or call me at 541-685-2677. Thanks.

Here are a couple random pictures from my garden. I used a flash. It seemed to help bring out the details. Does anyone have advice on photographing aquariums? Rick

HI Everybody, Thanks for the info. This is great. A self fragging coral. Thanks for welcoming me to the site. It is nice to have a place to share my aquarium experiences. Rick

Greetings, I have a basic tree coral that popped off three branches over a period of three or four days. After expelling the branches the coral shrunk and looks pretty sad. One branch attached itself to a rock overnight. I am going to try and add pictures. This is my first time adding pictures. Let me know if it does or doesn't work. If the pictures appear, check out the stumps on the picture of the tree coral. Pretty amazing to witness the process. The limbs seemed to pinch off the stalk, leaving these little stumps behind. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Prior to popping off the branches the coral was very healthy and growing like a weed. Any thoughts, ideas or shared experience? Thanks, Rick

Greetings, I have ordered two times from Jody at Tidalzone and both orders are amazing. His shipping method is great. The frags are exactly as advertised. The prices are really good. And cheap shipping to Eugene. Thanks Jody. Rick
