  4. I believe so, well this didnt solve my problem still having issues with the ballast. anyone think they can help out let me know. It ran fine for a little bit then i shut it off, now when i try to turn it back on only one bulb is firing and i dont think it is firing full output. i dont know im thinkin on scratching this idea and just saving up for VHO's (scratch)
  5. Nevermind i got them to work, that thread was right and you dont use the green or black.
  6. Yeah the company is out of business and this is the closest thread i found dealing with wiring this ballast . . . {"Ok, well it ended up that you dont use the black wire at all...so for each end cap both red wires went to the one red wire for the cord from the ballast and both yellow wires went to the white wire. That was it. Oh also you need both sets wired for them to start correctly. I think there is only a starter on one of the outgoing cables in the ballast."} does this sound right? and if so , then this means i wouldnt connect the green (ground) wire to the endcaps at all, i would just have to ground it somewhere else? any help would be nice thanks Jason
  7. OK i just got a 2x96 watt customsealife ballast and i am trying to connect straight pin end caps. i notice the wires comming out of the ballast have 4 different colors ( Black, White, Red, and Green). The 4 wires comming out of my end caps are all black but two of them are black with a white stripe. If anyone is familiar or can give me any imput that would be great on how i should connect these wires, i know each color needs to go to a certain wire but not sure whice ones go where. Thank you Jason

  10. We lost power in Corvallis from about 7:30pm till 5:30am, i was in the middle of a water change, just took 10 gal out and the friekin power shuts off... all i could do since i didnt have any battery opperated air pumps or power inverters was to stir the heck out of my tank about every 20 - 30 min until about 1:30 and had to go to bed. The power must have woken me up and i went straight back to finishing my water change... lol couldnt resist. well luckely i didnt loose any livestock and my corals seem to be looking as good as usual. now we just need to have regular oregon weather, rain, no wind. Jason
  11. I also had a question on another type of snail that i saw this afternoon ill have to wait till he comes back out again to grab a pic, he looked pretty cool. Is it common to have these different types of snails populating, even though i have only introduced turbo snails?
  12. Yeah this little bugger took off like a bat outa hell when he noticed that i saw him, i didn't think snails could move like that but i guess i was wrong.
  13. I believe it is some kind of snaill, about an inch long i found snooping around my xenia's. Not really sure what it is / or safe... thanks.
  14. Crazy picture taken from the bottom front of my tank looking up...
  15. The new milli just added a couple of weeks ago from CRPC...
  16. I agree with salifert flatworm exit being your best chance in ridding the flatworms from your system. I used it and had a sucessful recovery and you will want to treat before they get out of hand those toxic bastards!!!!
  17. Looking for some 14k single ended bulbs 2 would be nice. Anyone know of any give me a hollar. Icecap 440 as well.
  18. You know they make battery operated air pumps for when your power shuts off they turn on, could be a tank saver.. Just my 2 cents Jason
  19. HAHAHA i love it i was in the same boat as you a couple weeks ago, watching my hogfish take down a sarcophyton and try to nip at a brain coral. He is now back at the lfs. Good to see it wasnt a flatworm or parasite issue. lata
  20. Wow man it's like my dream before my eyes.. i like the in the wall design, cant wait to see the final.. keep us updated!

  22. Nice tank man and welcome to the site! Dont be afraid to ask any questions the people on here are pretty good at helping you out if its needed. You got some killer colonies of acros in there i saw. Keep it up! Later Jason
  23. reply i currently have xm 10k and they are great for growth but i want to get xm 15k to get more blues into the tank.
  24. reply I like the Orange Shoulder tangs. When they are young they are very yellow like a yellow tang, and when they get older they change completely with their back half being dark grey and their front half is a lighter grey and they have a huge orange outlined with purple spot on their shoulder, hence the name. They are reef safe too if thats where your goin. Hope this helps!
