ok if you want a good ro di unit do not go with the one on ebay it has a no name membrane and filters are mostly 5 micron meaning crap and the di is horiz not vert vert will have the best results. if you need replacement go to coral reef jason had good filters and can help you but not break your wallet like upscales will and better product as well. if you want a new unit jason has specpure which are the best if you want a good one but will need better filters depeneding on your water fo with purelyh2o.com i have the vision auto unit it works great and great customer service. my water need me to change the filters for to .5 micro to make my water before it goes to di to 0 tds so my water is perfect. i would recommend airwaterice but you have to buy alot more to get what you get with the purelyh2o and no experience with buckeye.
oceanic is great have used instant ocean original, reef crystals and coralife and pacific coast none compare to oceanic ive used 7 200gal buckets and 2 of those other ones i stated and i have so much better results
when your buying more then 900 bucks in reef corals and equipment every month and your wife is beating you everynight because you overdrew you acct. ya that was me about 2 years ago not fun!
but i got some sweet corals!!!!
i would go get ro/di water from a lfs i know jason at coral reef has it for sale i think if not ill sell it to you i get free water ill charge you like 15 cents a gallon? or whatever you normally charge.
normal to stop micro bubbles from having the chance to get into the display i run about 3-5 times the amount of my display through the sump the more the more bubbles you will create so if you have more then that going through i would say then put a ball value on that return or put that pump into the display and get a smaller pump
i myself when ever i do a close look i always go bigger so i go from 3/4 to 1 or larger if i can i think if you can do the dart with no problem they are very well built pumps so i think if you can give it a smaller hole but multiple holes to draw from and put out you should be perfectly fine
the rps 1000 will do up to 120 gals good and the 2000 will do up to 200 gals and the 3000 its like almost 400 and thats with a sps tank so you can go alot more if its just a fish only or like that.
i love my octopus rps 1000 i use it externally its quiet and pulls pitch black junk out of my tank daily into a 2 liter that i empty every week but i have it pretty dry. best skimmer ive bought ive has a asm and now where near as good as the octopus.
ya i use weld on 4 and 16 i use the applicator and a horizontal saw or a table saw also melevsreef.com is a great place to see it visually also i use a buffer with my drill and a router.
i use kents 2 part for alk and calcium and i have 2 other frag tanks and that tank has the same or better results then my calcium reator frag tanks. i also use kalkwasser with any ro/di water replenishment. also ive used the iron based PO4 like phosban and have found that the kent sponge or seachem works the best if you dont have softies its the best it drops my po4 from like .3 to 0 like in an hour and keeps it there for a month or two i only keep it in there fro 3 days and you must i mean must rinse it alot because if you dotn the particles get into the water can cause problems just like the iron one. but other then that best stuff every used and its reusable.
tell me how you like those t5's i was wanting those for my sps frag tank but wasnt sure how the growth or coral would work out. btw what frags are you goin to have in there?
