  1. Or you can check out the meet and greet thread in the suggestion section. I believe there is a group having one tomorrow Meet & Greet this Sunday, Sept. 21st 6:00 PM. McMenamins Greenway Pub - 12272 S.W. Scholls Ferry Rd. Tigard, OR 97223 (503) 590-1865 Also anyone can host or plan a meet and greet. Just start a thread and let people know where and when. These meet and greets are not official meetings. As John just stated if you would like to host a official meeting let us know!!! Simply let us know which month you would like to host.
  2. Note to self do no do this on a wooden deck!
  3. I never have fryed a turkey before. Any suggestions you care to share?
  4. Has anyone deep fryed a turkey before?
  5. Are you going to leave it bare bottom? What do you plan on keeping in your new tank? I would add all of your rock now and let it set until all your levels are spot on. Rule of thumb: Better to wait before you go spending lots of money on cool things and a week later its dead.... This is especially true for clams and hard to keep fish. Just my thoughts.... Waiting is so darn hard...... (whistle)
  6. I also love to smoke brisket, duck, salmon, ribs, chicken, turkey. For my jerkey I either use a bottom round or if carna asada is on sale I use that. I then use a cure and add tons of flavor. There is a website that sells the cure by the bucket. And its not that expensive. Really wish there was a good meet shop around where you could buy a side of beef at a great price....
  7. We use a dry rub and let it sit over night in the frig. Then the next day put it in smoker. We use apple wood or hickory wood chunks for pork. Low and slow at 200 to 225 degrees for about 15 to 18 hours depending on size. In the last hour wrap in foil so it seals in the juices, and add whole made bbq sauce. Then take it out let it rest. One thing it one side has lots of fat you might want to trim some of it off before smoking. What kind of jerky do you like?
  8. (worthless) Welcome to the site. Tell us more about your set up.........
