  1. As far as the tanks dimensions, the numbers thing doesn't really matter to me. I really only care about it looking good and is being functional.

The tank will be SPS dominated with few LPS. Ideally, i will get a few select corals and let them grow out into colonies. I'm thinking about going BB for water quality but def prefer the look of a sand bed. I will prlly end up with a SSB so I can keep my leapord wrasse.

  2. Hey everyone! I'm in the process of planning for a tank upgrade and would really appreciate some input on my next tank. I currently have an oceanic 30gal cube and am planning on setting up a 30x30x_ rimless cube build by Joel. I recently graduated from WSU and started my first real job so I will finally be able to actually afford an upgrade(clap). As of last month I live and work in the Seattle area but I guess I still consider PNWMAS my home.

My first decision is on the height of the tank. I can't decide to go with 20", 22", or 24". I'm planning on lighting in with a single 400w 20K halide in a Lumanarc pendant so light penetration shouldn't be an issue. Here are some sketches of the configurations. So help me out and let me know what you think and why

  3. Yea I am thinking about running Radiums on a tank i'm planning and have been debating between the 250 and 400 watters. Only reason I knew is I've been doing some research on the two recently. That's a great idea with the coralvue ballest, I'll have to look into that

  4. Are you planning on getting your fish before the move or after? Not sure if you are aware but Pets Are People Too and Palouse Pets in Moscow both sell saltwater and will also special order fish for you. There may be more but too but I've been to Aquatic Dreams and Aquarium Solutions in Spokane. Can't remember the name but there is also a shop in Lewiston

  5. If you got a small Kole or Tomini I don't think it would absolutely outgrow your tank in the next two years. They only get 6-7in fully grow. One thing you may want to consider in your fish choices is to get fish that will eat flake or pellets so you can use an autofeeder over breaks.

  6. No I am going to be a Junior' date=' but I am moving into an apartment so I can actually have a tank. I lived in Perham for two years. The anemone is a kelly green color. I am going to post a better picture when I get home.[/quote']

Gotcha. Well good luck selling the nem and moving your tank. I've moved a tank there and back twice and it def. isn't fun

  7. I don't know if anyone sells these locally or what there prices are but I think going with the 150W is a good choice. Buld choices at 70w are extremely limited and most are pretty expensive. If its too bright or hot you can always use a hanging kit and raise the fixture up.

  8. I have never fed that brand but have feed Cyclop-eeze' date=' and my fish go crazy over. I didn't know cleaner shrimp could break dance, but you should see my wifes shrimp go wacko when she feeds them to her tank.[/quote']

Yea my fish love Cyclop-eeze also. Its good stuff.

  9. Could have been worse... it could have been DT's

That stuff sets new levels for vileness when it goes bad. Gag-a-bristleworm vile. Make-your-skimmer puke vile. Nasty.

Ha ha. I'll take you word on the DTs, hopefully I will never have to experiance that. But a least the DTs is a little cheaper.

  10. Thanks for the input guys, thats what I had always heard. The bottle has a best use by date of May 9th but its got a pretty unpleasant odor. The only think i can think of is it may have gone bad. Today i watched my wrasse take a few pieces but then actually spit them out. Kinda sucks.
