  1. One alternative I've been pondering is if they really all died when Juliet set off the nuke. When she said "It worked", was she already dead, and having the same "I remember" moment as we see the characters have in LA? But that would imply a second level of sideways.

But perhaps her impending actual death allowed her a "vision", much as it appeared that Jack had in the bamboo grove.

oooooh, i forgot about that.... I'm going with the "vision" explanation since that would fit with my theory. :p (laugh)

  2. I beg to differ! I think they all died in the plane crash and everyone they met on the Island was dead.

This was why Locke could walk. Why the lady with cancer (Rose? I'm bad with names..) went into remission.

Richard never aged because he died in the shipwreck and just took freaking forever to let go.

This was why nobody could commit suicide because they were already dead.

It's the only thing that makes sense and ties everyone together for me.

Pumpkin head baby? Who is pumpkin head baby? I missed that character.(laugh)

They were only dead in the flash sideways. This was were they stayed in limbo until they could all "let go and move on".

Everything that happened on the island, happened.

Everyone who survived the plane crash did actually survive until they died.

So how did Sawyer' date=' Claire and Kate die? It looked like they made it off the island on that jet... How about Hurley and the weasel-y guy? How about the pumpkin-head baby? That little bugger sure got screwed...[/quote']

I agree with AquaticEngineer. They didn't all die in the plane crash, we KNOW that because Christian said that everything that happened, happened. The alternate world was a place that they created so they could "Find" each other after they had died in life. We KNOW this because Hurley and Ben lived out a life where they were numbers 1 and 2.

Locke and Rose becoming healed is something they'll never explain totally but we can speculate that the Island's electromagnetic fields has something to do with that. That's how they explain lots of things, it seems.

Richard never died because Jacob made him that way. In a way, Charlie did kill himself (many people did die) when he pushed Desmond out of the sub and locked himself inside to drown. He was alive until that point. So, people could kill themselves if they wanted to but no one bothered and Richard couldn't.

A lot of people are having issues with Aaron (turnip head) was at the church - but when you think about what Christian said, it's not so surprising. They all find each other at the time in their lives when they were most important to each other that's why Claire was preggers and Kate was there to help with the birth, Jack/Island/whatever heals Locke, Sawyer meets "Juliet after Jack", Sayid saves Shannon, etc etc etc.

Like I said/implied before, the church represents an afterlife. People lived and died AFTER the island but when they met in the church, they had all died by then (old age, cancer, whatever!). Many moved on, Ben didn't, Jack did die on the island, Michael was stuck on the island, and the actor playing Walt hit puberty too fast and cannot be made to look like young Walt. Then again, on the Jimmy Kimmel show, they said the ending (heaven/purgatory/whatever) was meant to be interpreted per each person's beliefs.

  3. I was initially a little let down, but then I usually like things wrapped up in a nice neat package. But the more I think about it, I really like how it wrapped up.

I also had a feeling that Juliet would be Jack's ex in the flash-sideways (either her or Anna Lucia).

I was a bit surprised to see Boon and Shannon back, though I guess we did see Boon on the plane in the flash-sideways. The were fairly significant early on, but there has been little about them since.

I was hoping to see Mr. Eko again. They spent quite a bit of time on his backstory, so I was a little surprised he didn't show up somewhere.

Well, well, well guys, 6 years of our lives has ended to here....

I, too, was initially let down by the ending but the more I think about it, the more I'm like, "okay, well, I guess that was pretty good, could they have really done it any other way?". (My co-worker told me that he thought it would be great if the children born on/because of the island, came back once they're adults and then killed Locke.... has potential....)

I was really surprised that Juliet was Jack's ex-wife. I truly thought it was going to be his real ex-wife before the island (the lady who he saved after a car accident). But I guess it makes sense with the parallels between island and alternate world.

I was surprised to see Boon and Shannon back too and not Michael and Walt or Mr. Eko. On the other hand, we kind of know that Michael is "stuck" on the island for his deeds and I'm guessing that if deeds determine your passage to the church then Mr. Eko is a no go as well. Although, they could have at least cameo'd him (or did they? They did flash to a table with someone who looked like him during the concert...) This could be why Ben Linus didn't go inside the church too.

BTW, did anyone love the Target commercial with the boar running through the jungle - at first, I was like, "What could they possibly be selling?" DOH!(clap) Too good, too good.

Did anyone watch the Jimmy Kimmel alternate endings? I liked the first one....

  4. Last nights episode of LOST was one of the best! I finally feel like I am getting some answers!

It really does make sense that they are all dead and in hell. I don't know why I didn't think of that before DOH!

I mean they did show the plane crashed with all the people still on board at the bottom of the ocean but I was more willing

accept that some dude named Charles Whitmore staged the whole thing.(scratch)

It also makes sense why Jack was able to speak to his dead father.

Purgatory was one of the first theories that floated around on the internet but the writers said definitely not. I think last night's episode was a teaser that it was but in actuality, it is NOT. Instead, the island seems to be more of a "second-chance" kind of place. All the candidates have some sort of messed up aspect in their real life. This is their chance to prove that people are not bad and can make good decisions on their own despite their past.

Now we know what the Island does. Pretty neat analogy with the wine bottle but silly that the man in black cracked it. C'mon. That's probably good stuff.

  5. Sayid episode. Awesome. "I can't be with you because I don't deserve you." Swoon. And then, it's "I'm killing everyone and smiling creepily."

    Smokey is a subway train?

Why was the Japanese man the only thing protecting them? Does he have Jacob-like powers? If Japanese man dies then the powder they put around the temple is null?

  6. Claire = Rousseau parallel?

    Baby taken.

    Traps around jungle.

Tent fortress full of goodies. Explosives.

    But.

Even Rousseau looked cleaner than Claire. C'mon. She's the only one who doesn't shower.

Interesting also that Mocke knows that Kate took Aaron yet told her that the others took him....

  7. I believe that is a difference in the "new" timeline.

I'm wondering who his mother is. I'm betting either Anna Lucia or Juliet.

Ex-wife. The lady who was his patient whose life he saved and they got married but then he was a workaholic etc etc it was way back seasons ago.

I initially thought that the explosion only changed the timeline from the plane crashing but now, I'm thinking it's like you're saying, Jordan, that the explosion reset the timeline so Jacob never touched any of them. In this case, yes, Jack could have a child, Locke would end up with Helen, Hurley is the luckiest man on earth, etc etc.

I'm not sure what the whole lighthouse thing was about. Nice excuse, "we weren't looking for it and that's why we never saw a giant tall structure in a relatively uninhabited island." What would have happened if Hurley moved the thing to 108? The numbers, the numbers!!!!! (scary)

Claire said her dad told her that the Others took her baby? Her dad is speaking to her therefore is alive even though he was dead-dead? OR! Maybe he's related to all this through Widmore - who we haven't heard about in a while....

Claire and ax killing and baby crib and creepy thing inside crib and gross hair (c'mon, everyone else seems to shower). Creepy.

Speaking of creepy - creepy child at the piano recital who ends up being Japanese Mysterioso man's child! ahhhhgh!

It was a pretty good episode, all in all. Lots of questions still but clarified a few things too:

    1. There are other-others separate from the temple. They are on team Mocke.

    2. Explosion prolly altered Jacob-line not plane-line.

    3. Claire is alive-alive

  8. are they really on the island to become protectors? why so many? why kill Locke if he is a candidate? protect the island from what? smokey? DOH!

maybe Mocke wants to escape the island but cannot unless someone else takes him? or if he possess someone else body?

I heard too that it was not purgatory or imagination-land or anything like that....

  9. My biggest fear with Lost is that the ending is going to be something like the ending in St. Elsewhere (some of you are probably too young to remember that show) but in the end the hospital was all in the imagination of an autistic boy.

I worry that the common thread and link is Hurley who was in a mental hospital and that the entire Island and characters are made up in his mind. They hinted at that in one of the seasons. This would explain why one of the characters on the Island , the psychologist, was in the same mental hospital. It would also explain why he can talk to the characters who have died and why he is one of the few people who can see Jacob.

I hope to God that's not how they end it because I think it is just a lame and lazy way to end the series.

    "I want answers! [language filter]!"

I can totally see that ending but I have faith that the writers won't do that to us. It would be like that Dallas thing where some character died but it ended up being a dream. Or the Buffy episode where she's in a mental hospital but you never know which reality is real. AhhhghDOH!

undrtkr_00 - those are some good points. It never occured to me that Calire and Jack's dad could also be "infected". I definitely linked Danielle's group as being infected with the same thing that Sayid is.

I do think the Temple has always been on the island but why it hasn't played a more important role (until now) ...I don't know...

Now that you mention it, it was weird that all those people weren't on the plane.... Where exactly did the timeline restart? Did "it" really work? History is different BEFORE the plane crash.....

Andy - that would be strange and sort of be like a eyebrows raised, "really?" moment.(nutty) (laugh)

  10. i hope we get a black rock episode, i want to see why that ship is so far inland.

Do you think Richard came on the Black Rock? Remember when Mocke said, "It's good to see you out of those chains".(scratch)

  11. I'm new to the saltwater aquarium world but have been watching Lost from the beginning.

So in my opinion Juliette told Sawyer "It worked" before she died meaning they succeeded in blowing up the magnetic force field. I sound like such a geek now!:D.

So the scenes where Claire and Kate meet are what happened because the plane didn't crash.

The ones where Kate, Sahid and everyone on the Island are because as Daniel Faraday said in the past "what happened has happened you can not change the past." So their world is still as if there plane crashed.

    Make sense? Not really....

I agree that the new plane scenes are the alternate ending to if the plane did not crash. However, why is Dhamaville under the ocean? It did exist but is now under the ocean.... also, apparently the shark at the under the ocean scene had the Dharma logo on it.

If the new timeline is if the crash never happened then how did Jack get that cut on his neck? Also, if this is new timeline is only new because the plane did not crash then what the heck is Desmond doing on the plane? Before the crash, he was on the island already. Right? Or is he exempt because he's like a time traveler already? Eeep! (scratch)

  12. episode 1 had a lot of exciting revelations. Although suspected, Locke is most definitely now a "Mocke". And Mocke = Smokey! But I've assumed that Mocke was a bad guy and yet, recall that Smokey protects the island and didn't we establish somewhere that Smokey only kills bad people? Mocke = actual good guy?

    The Juliet thing was lame.

I'm a little nervous about the plot on the new airplane/timeline.

Seeing Desmond on the plane was a big Lil Jon WHAT!

Temple people? So, this is where the people who get kidnapped end up? Where are the children? Will we see Claire?

    Episode 2:

    boring Kate and Sawyer

Hey! It's Mac from Always Sunny in Philadelphia! Another good show.

    Ending: ahhhhhhhhhgggg!!!!! Throw up dinner.

    Additional thoughts

There are four groups of people on the Island:

    1. The Others = Dharma

    2. The Other-Others = Anti-Dharma

    3. The Other-Other-Others = Temple people

    4. Them = Losties

But! Are the Anti-Dharma and the Temple People the same? Mac makes a point to remind us that he's been on the island all along. IMDB flashback to "Not in Portland" episode and he was on the Anti-Dharma team guarding the station where dumb Carl was being brainwashed "God loves all as he loved Jacob". O_O

So if Carl is now on Temple Team but back then he was on Anti-Dharma Team then are they the same? And if they are the same then what team is Claire on? And is Sayid now on the same team?

    Last season! Epic.

  13. I have two filters - one has a broken motor, one is missing it's rotating thing that pumps up water. I would ideally like to just get the rotator thing if anyone has parts around. I have an eclipse rotator that is just a smidge too big to fit. I would like one for an aquaclear 10gallon.

This is for a freshwater tank but i'm posting here because I couldn't find a freshwater club? I even googled it. PM me if you have something I can use/buy?

  14. I would have to say it even rivals my own bbq, which, not to brag, is really good.

    Go give them a try.................

What did you order? I had the chicken and tried the sample platter but I don't remember it beating out home BBQ.... (whistle)

  15. Went Tuna fishing last friday ( tillamook bay ) set out 5 crab pots at the mouth with tuna heads as bait. Had over 150 with about 60 keepers including

about 8 monsters that were about 6 inches over legal. The captain said he had never caught that many before and he set's his traps a couple times a week.

NICE! Where did you get the tuna heads? How long did you leave the traps out for? Where in the bay? TELL ME YOUR SECRET!! (wife)(laugh)

  16. Went to Newport Bay, rented out a little boat but weren't as successful as we wanted to be. Realize now isn't prime time but we talked to people at the pier who caught the max that day. We used chicken with bone in, had four rings and one cage... ended up with only 5 Dungeness and like 7 or 8 red rock keepers.

    Anyone got any advice?

  17. I thought we had met Jacob before because of John Locke's episode when he got pushed out of the top floor and became a paraplegic. Didn't we see that before? (scratch) Maybe not.

I thought there were more seasons left over too, Jordan. I was totally gonna text you and be like, "omg" but it was late so I decided to squeal by myself. (laugh)

They seem to be bringing a lot of Egyptian mythology stuff.

I thought the smoke monster was going to come out this episode... I hope we get to see it a lot next (last) season!

Did Richard come to the island on the Black Rock? hmmmm.

I think "the other dude" at the beginning has taken the guise of John Locke. By convincing Ben to kill Jacob, the guy found a way through the loophole because maybe it's impossible for him to do it himself?

I think the relationship between Jacob and the other guy is good v evil because 1. The chubby guy keeps saying they're the good guys (recall Miles' episode as well). 2. biblical references - Jacob is like Jesus/God/typical good guy in that: he offers choice, no one person of his followers should be self-righteous (Ben), he ends up getting killed by "his own people", he has the whole mysterious/majestic look going with most of his face shadowed and the eyes. I guess we learn about the "bad" guys later. On the other hand, I could be totally wrong and maybe they are two dudes who fought of a lady at some point - that seems to be a theme.

  18. I cried a little during the Juliet and Swayer scene. Even though we never saw the development of their relationship and I'm not totally convinced that they were ever a good couple, it was still sad.... (sad)

I hate that they used the whole "what's in the box" trick on the audience. Again. That was really maddening.

spoiler! So the bomb gets pulled with the magnetic force of the earth (not to mention gravity) and is wired to go at impact but it doesn't blow until Juliet hits with a little rock.... laaaaame

spoiler#2! So when someone gets pushed into a fire pit, do they actually burst into flames? That guy must have been doused with alcohol or something....

spoiler#3 We have actually met Jacob before!

I'm excited to see how it ends next season!!
