  1. I put on a blind fold and grab a cane and cross roads at random... one of these days someone is going to hit me and I'll be rich
  2. get a peppermint shrimp, but take him out before you put any nice amenones or zoas in there
  3. if only you would sell things when i have money
  4. try putting ice on the tube, to make it cool from the outside, then he might night want to hold onto the pipe as much
  5. ice? or do you have a soft bristled bottle brush you can tickle him out with?
  6. thats where it is, any other ideas?
  7. has anyone had any issues with an ETSS downdraft skimmer? I've had mine for a year now, and I've never really seen "good" foam production, I only ever get a tiny bit... only about 2-4 cups of goo in the past 3 months? My nitrates are always really really low if not non exsistent, and my fish load is fairly high so I should get something I would assume. But its never been great, and if I increase the height of the water in the skimmer at all water starts pouring out of the top of the downdraft column. its this one in the link, running with 700GPH on it http://www.superskimmer.com/ETSS%20600.htm Anyone know have an idea? or any fun mods i could do to turn it crazy foamy?
  8. I'm always planning something evil... but now that its cold out my garage isn't warm enough to hang out in there and mod things, and I don't have the space in the house to build the nuclear reactor I was scheming. so its sit infront of the tank and get the reefer tan time
  9. If you ever want to upgrade a little to some 175 MH, I have a couple of ballasts and bulbs to go with em that I would sell you for cheap or trade
  10. hey ron, what do you have for lighting on the tank? it looks awesome, I love the capnella they have at woody's, its one of my favorite softies
  11. oh thats right, we'll make them, thats where the real rock and roll comes from
  12. thats a sweet wet up! i love cold water critters edit: in the cold water posting steveweast's is awesome as well, i think i should just fill my spare room with water, and put a window to it in the hall. serisously though, i wish i had half that
  13. i have some crystal pads you can borrow, but i want em when you are done
  14. The diving up here is freaking awesome, better than diving in most of the tropics, I would admit. Oregon has great dive sites too, so its not just all pudget, but thats worth it... you see tons here seals, octopi, small soft corals (anemone like), amenones, sea pens, fishies, eels, crabs. Just tons of stuff
  15. over night, 8 hours at least, long enough that when you sniff the pipe, you don't fall over high
  16. I work half my week at night... gives me more daytime view time too oh and I like to buy little, I like to watch things grow anyway
  17. I have to open the windows all day and night for 2 nights, its been so warm and humid i'm not getting any evaporation from the tank, and my display tank got up to 84, 82 in my prop tank. I never had a heat issue all summer, in the summer the hottest i got was 79-80, and i barely ever ran the AC
  18. what kind of scratches, how bad?? you can get the crystal pads at HD i think
  19. Thanks ron! By the way, how did that pump work out for you?
  20. its an AWESOME solution to alot of problems, but i have found, and i have tried alot of things with sugar, that you should not put more than a teaspoon of sugar in your tank in a year, the feedings will feed enough but a teaspoon in your initial start up/cycle is benificial
  21. sorry, the coral growth rate went up after the sugar, the algaes where starved for food
