  1. Another idea.

How about having a map of the northwest out where people can place pins that show where they live. You could use colored pins to signify how much water they have under their care. If people see how many "local" reefers live nearby they might be more inclined to join.

Plus this gives people a reason to come to the booth without having to give them a "free" item. (save us some money)

  2. $15 for a day out is pretty cheap in my book.

Reef keeping is a family hobby for us so it will cost us $45 to goto the event. I would love to go but can't justify the cost at this point.

    BREAKING NEWS!!

I am now accepting sponsors so we can goto the event. (clap)

  3. For what its worth I stopped using oceanpure after my boron levels went through the roof. I ended up losing about 1/2 my tank. The death stopped the same day I switched salt. There was a guy on RC that had the same problem I did. I'm guessing it was a bad batch of salt since alot of people use it.

  4. Mine is very very very active. He just can't stop swimming and picking at the rocks. He does stay near the turbulent flow and I have seen him several times trying to swim up the sump return output which is running about 2500 gph. I would make sure you have a big tank with plenty of rock for him to pick at. So far he has been pretty passive with the rest of my fish. He isn't scared of them and will stand his ground when he is challenged.

They can really bring a lot of life (movement) to a tank.

  5. I had a nice little photo shoot out with the clown tank last night. It took me over 100 shots to get about 30 good ones. Here is a little slideshow of the ones I liked.

The female has grown quite large but she still will not let the male get close to the anemone. She likes to chase him around and he will submit to her every time. I'm hoping she will come to her senses and let him host. I want to see some eggs soon!!
