  1. I have been in CB's many times and have never had a single problem with his "customer service". I heard the story of your crab, and all he asked was for you to bring him a sample of your water to test before he replaced the crab. Which is what every store with a guarantee asks for before replacing livestock. Was the crab dead?

  2. More info and pics on "Almost new 2x250 watt HQI Sunlight Supply ballast with reflectors and 2 month old bulbs...asking $175 for it"

I bought it from Tim a couple months ago. It is a Blue Wave HQI dual 250 ballast. I bought the bulbs at CB's right after that. The reflectors are about a year old.

  3. This month has sucked more than any I have encountered in recent memory. First my dad passed away, then I came down with the worst case of gout I have ever seen, can't even walk. Then, to top it all off, I was doing some maintenance on my tank, I tripped into the the tank with the broom in my hand and cracked my tank in the corner!!!!! I couldn't believe it. So, luckily I had the cube tank to put my stuff into. the tank didn't spill but it is pretty much ruined. So I am going to have some stuff to unload....

    ALL SOLD

  4. I have seen small sargassum anglers eat frozen mysis. That angler not only will eat all of your fish it can, it will raise hell with shrimp too. One issue I would be concerned about is if it spies a hermit crab moving, it may try to eat the crab, shell and all. It may not be able to pass the shell and the fish will ultimately die. You could probably coax it into eating silversides whole.

  5. I buy stuff on Ebay from him all the time, as well as OIAB. If other local suppliers sold on Ebay, I would buy from them also. He does allow local pick up. I realize this is a grey area for many local stores, but who are we to tell a guy who to sell to. As long as he is selling it legally, I will continue to bid on his auctions. You don't get the same guarantee from him as you would local stores. But you do get an opportunity to buy some pretty cool corals that you may not see in the stores.

  6. sell the livestock, break down the system, and then look for people who have a container that has room that they are shipping to Hawaii. I shipped a car this way when I lived on Maui. It may save you a lot of cash. I'm sure the price of a new tank on Maui is going to be huge.

  7. The club in it's present form was started by a few reefers in the area, I don't think any of them are active in it any more. Alice, Fred, Ryan, and a few others. There is another local club, but they have both saltwater and freshwater members.
