Phytoplankton and brine shrimp

Recommended Posts

I have been culturing both on the same counter for the last two weeks or so, and I noticed tonight that there are a few brine shrimp IN my phytoplankton jars.scary

I have ask a few people for their opinions, and no one really knows what will happen.

What would you do? Would you leave it alone? Some seem to think they will not lay eggs and reproduce...if this is true, that would be good.

Would you try to strain them out with a brine shrimp net?

It's always something, isn't it?:p

I've raised many generations brineshrimp using phytoplankton, so its possible for them to reproduce.

I'd say strain them out, then move your phytoplankton culture bottles to a shelf above the brineshrimp to help prevent future contamination.
