steelhead77
Hi, I bought 3 Damsels yesterday for my new 72 gal bow. One seems to be missing in action. This morning he was gasping but still swimming. Around noon he went MIA. I've moved all the rocks that he was hanging around and can't find him anywhere. Do I need to worry about this? In addition to the DT I have a 20 gal sump. Will the dead, missing fish mess up my params so bad it will kill everything else? Thanks for any advice you can offer. -Scott
CA2OR
Well you definatly don't want him decomposing in your water. Try searching your sump, and if you have open lid look on the floor. Outside of that your guess is as good as mine
steelhead77
Update!! So after 6 hours of hiding out, he made a reappearance. He is still gasping for air though. I am encouraged that he is still alive, but my wife thinks I should 86 him before he does kick the bucket. What do you think? -Scott
Michael7979
Watch your params. for the next few days. If you see an ammonia spike do a good water change. that will help dilute it. How big of a clean-up crew do you have? If large enough they could have taken care of most of the fish when you went looking.

CA2OR
I would agree with your wife. IMO when I have fish that are gasping one day....they usually are floating the next

Thanks for the advice. -Scott
CA2OR
If that means he went into a bag and back to the store than good. If that means he found a porcelin resting place than I am sorry.
