kriswaters
Does anyone in the Tigard/Tualatin/Beaverton/Newberg area have one that I can borrow? I need to get the two dominos out of my tank to treat for ich. I lost both of my clowns while gone on vacation and I don't want to loose anything else! Thanks, Kris
Michael7979
I know Travis at Upscales sells them. (Waves may also) Might ask if he would be 'willing to rent' it to you. (He has one for shop use.) Answer is always 'NO' unless you ask and it can't hurt.
markdadof2
Kris, I have had to trap fish before in my FW setup and a water bottle (like a dasini or costco water) works great - just cut the top few inches off and turn it over and put it back in the bottle - put a bit of food in there and you may just get lucky. It worked for me as I had to trap 3 fish once (they were pestering my discus). It is worth a shot! Of course, if the fish is large this may not work :( Good luck

CA2OR
It is hard to believe that finding a fish trap is soo hard
kriswaters
Thanks Doran...a bit far to drive for a trap! I am devising alternatives....they are dominos...how smart could they be????? JManrow
Kris - I didn't see this post until tonight. A fish trap is so easy to make. I have made them many times over the years from 2 liter soda bottles. Here's a simple diagram. http://www.aquariumlife.net/projects/diy-aquarium-tools/32.asp No glue or tape should be necessary. Inverted section fits snug in other section.

fishiefish
oh just what I needed. I have a horrible Pseudochromis strwberry that I need to trap before it badgers anything else to death
CA2OR
Ah....I find it kind of funny how much harder it is to catch saltwater fish than it was to catch my fresh water cichlids
kriswaters
I managed to use a large plastic container for a trap. This first fish swam right in, I couldn't catch the others though. I eventually put the one back into the main tank and treated with Metrondiazole (god as a pharm tech I hope I spelled that right). So far things are looking a bit better.
