Wave maker and powerhead

They are different. A 'powerehead' refers to the pump that actually moves the water. The 'wavemaker' is usually a controller of some sort that turns the powereheads on and off, or from low to high frequency. When set up properly, the powerheads will create a wave-like current in the water column. If you do not use a controller, the powerheads simply run at full bore constantly. HTH.
