Two computers on one LCD monitor

Calling all computer nerds Just kiddin guys.

 

Okay here is my question. I have a Dell Pc I just bought about 6 months ago and a Powermac G4 I just bought from Mike. Im gonna use the dell for most of my daily stuff and the mac for video, music, etc. My questions is that I dont wanna buy another monitor two run both. Can I used one monitor for both. I would be also cool to use one keyboard and mouse too. So I found this. Anyone know anything about them?

We use KVM switches in the labs at work, and they usually work just fine. Every once in a while, we run into a PC that won't boot if it isn't the 'selected' one (boot sequence) expects a keyboard to be connected; fancier KVM switches might fix this, I dunno. We use a lot of Belkin stuff (http://www.belkin.com/kvm/). We've found that the cheap switches often have problems with higher resolution video signals (interference, ghosting, etc).

 

You'll also have to check and make sure that the Mac can use USB mouse and keyboard, I don't remember when Apple dumped ADB.

I think im gonna give it a shot. It comes with the cables which is a big plus.

 

Yeah Im on the Mac right now with my dell keyboard and mouse. Seems to work. There are just a couple buttons that are not on the Pc keyboard. I can live with that. Later Ryan

This is probably too late, but I used to switch between a PC and Mac on the same monitor at my old job, shouldn't be a problem for the mac.

be sure you get one that has audio jacks as well, then you can share one set of speakers

I didnt get the one with audio Roy, they didnt have it. That probably would be pretty sweet. I will figure out something for that. Later Ryan
