Zoolander
Is there any reason why you couldn't use one? It makes sense to me but I figured I would ask first.
Smann
I had one outside my tank and cabinet running to my chiller. it was a submersible pump however it had stainless screws on the housing so it could not be used in the sump. I disassembled it before use to be sure it was all plastic, it was also a bit louder than an aquarium pump. You might also check to see if it produces heat, aquarium pumps are designed to be safe for saltwater, extremly quiet and give off little or no heat.
