sontdo
I'm planning to upgrade my lighting to keep SPS alive. Currently I have MH Ballast PFO 175 W X 2 with 6 VHO Actinic blue in a 100G tank, 48X24X20, with a canopy. Space is limited under the canopy. What is the best solution for optimal lighting upgrade to 250W X2 or 400W X2 MH and which ballast? Should I increase to 400W X2 or mixed of 250W and 400W. Thanks for any recommendation. I'd like to keep the set up simple due to limited space.
andy
IMO, 250W MHs should be fine. 400W bulbs will get pretty hot come summertime. Also, keep in mind that (for the most part) flow >> lighting. You'd do better with 250W and crazy water motion than 400W and low flow.
sontdo
thanks Andy. I'll get two 250 W and do two MJ 1200 with mods.
