XrayGuy
I am in need of a chiller for a 75 gallon axolotl tank. I want to keep the temp around 65F and my home is usually set at 73F. I have never used a chiller before, so I don’t know exactly what size would be needed for this tank. After some research, it looks like maybe 1/4HP would work? Let me know if you have one you are willing to part with. Thanks!
islandVib3s
I have a chiller im considering selling but holding on to it for now because these heat waves, but I've been using fans and they've been working great and making my heaters kick on so I'd try some fans if I were you. Do away with a heater if you have one. Chillers are pretty expensive, maybe you should consider getting a portable AC its cheaper,or upgrading AC unit if its not keeping up. Hope this helps. XrayGuy
Fans are a good idea in the meantime before I get a chiller. Thank you for the tip. We have a heat pump in our home and during the summer if we set the temp below like 71 then the unit starts to freeze up. The tank is in our kitchen/dining area that is an open floorplan, so a portable AC unit near it wouldn’t really help much and I wouldn’t have a window to put the vent in that area anyways. Thank you for the idea though.
