Hey everyone,

I am fairly new to this forum & have enjoyed using it.

I mainly used RC & was a part of So. Cal Reefers forum.

Just moved to the area from California & started my 210 gallon In Wall tank.

I just wanted to share my build with everyone here from start to finish.

I'll try to post lots of pix through each step of the way.

Here is my equipment list / details of the build:

210G w/ dual overflows AGA I got from Animal House 72" X 24" X 29"

Stand is custom built by me 41" tall. Mainly used 2X6's

55G Sump

55G Refugium

EuroReef 6-1 Skimmer

QuiteOne4000 Return

2 MaxiJet Mods (1500+GPH) for flow

Dual 250 watt MH SE

4 54 watt T5's for actinics

American DJ style Power Strip

6 stage RO/DI for pure clean water

150-200lbs of LR

50lbs fine sand

This will start to be a FOWLR then will probably move over to a reef setup.

If anyone has anyone has any comments, suggestions and advice please feel free to ask.

Thanks guys.

The brown wall is the viewing room, this room is our Home Theatre room. Now that the tank will be viewed from here, when watching chick flicks with the wifey I can pretend I'm watching when I'm really staring at my tank(naughty)(naughty)

The two toned room is the garage & where the tank will be.

I currently have the stand & tank in place. I just put in some dead LR & will be putting in 50lbs of LS this evening.

I will be posting some pix of my progress soon.

Update:

I lost my cable to upload my internal memory from my dig camera so I could not upload pix of the stand build. I'll upload pix from my memory card on where I stand now.

Unfortunately, I have to break everything down next weekend, since there is a small chip on the external back panel of glass(sad)(sad). I don't know how it got there but it seems to be getting bigger. It probably would not do any harm, but its hard too sleep at night thinking the tank could leak. It really sucks since this tank is so heavy to move around.

I called the shop on where i got it from & they will exchange it next week once they get the replacement in.

I still need to do the following:

Build stand for Refugium & water top off tank

Plumb them to main tank

Plumb drainage to oustide of garage

Connect MH's & T5's

Connect RO/DI unit to top off tank

But overall its been a really cool fun project.

Also forgot to add the pix of my Big Screen TV the Tank will be sharing:D

Family & I were watching a movie & I was mainly staring at my Tank(laugh)

Jay ,

this is spectacular, It looks fabulous (clap), so since I am a couple of stages before where you I can probably learn a lot from you. What kind of molding did you use around the tank? Is the tank flush with the wall?

What a bummer you have to take the tank down, but it looks like it will be an easy trip to your car!(laugh)

Thanks for the nice compliments guys.

BlueCheese - Molding is pretty basic I got from HD its 3/4" X 3.5" I believe. I wanted to go bigger but wall is not that big. It is not flush with the wall it has a small ledge (1 3/4") I used a thin strip to cover the drywall & connect to tank.

180Brandy - Yeah I thought about just keeping as is, but once I have all the fish I want in there it would be way too much to lose if it were to leak one day.

Garrett85 - Yeah i was kinda surprised that the LFS had no probs w/ it. I guess they know AGA stands behind their warranty & it isn't no big deal to them.

I'll be working on the stands this weekend, my electrical & will be putting acrylic covers around the stand to reduce the dust/dirt getting in the sump.

Update:

Picked up replacement tank on Saturday.

When I got home I noticed a small chip on the bottom corner again (flame) (flame)

Had to call the LFS again & have them order another tank that is arriving today, crossing my fingers that this tank is not jacked!!

So I've had a hole in my wall & driven around in a 210g tank for a week, this is what my wife was about to do (wife)(wife)(wife) when i came home with a broken tank.
