titus'reef
Food will work. You can also dose with straight ammonia. You just need to keep a steady ammonia source in the tank to help the bacteria proliferate. If dosing ammonia, you want to be sure and not go higher than 3 or 4 ppm because the ammonia will actually start working as an antiseptic and kill bacteria....which you obviously would not want.I think I will stick with the feeding technic. Thanks for the input. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
titus'reef
I haven't posted anything on this tank in a few weeks. I didn't have a reason to. But now I cleaned the protein skimmer and the other stuff I used in the holding tank. I guess pictures have a thousand words, so here we go: ATO 5 gallon for Ato Things are a little crowded but the system is very easy a Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
titus'reef
Now I have to organize the wires. Believe it or not. I need 8 plugs for this little system and I don't even have the media reactor and dosed plugged in yet. titus'reef
The rock is starting to get some color. Time to get a snail or something with coralline on it and seed it. What do you guys use for the coralline algae to grow faster? Or do you use anything at all? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Blackice
Looks great with the fish!!! And just keep your alk/cal/mag up one a good range and the coralline will spread quickly.

titus'reef
I wanted to make something to cover the back of the tank to prevent light and algae growth. As always, tap plastics had the answer. I had a piece or black acrylic cut to cover the tank and I trimmed it so lol the cords go out to the plugs nice and organized from the center of the tank. titus'reef
I trimmed the edge so the power cords and ATO line won't push against the lid and keep it high. I also found this 4 way metal gang valve. I removed the metal valves air line splitter and use it to hold the wires and dosing pump/ATO lines in place. titus'reef
Last night I noticed a lot of very tiny white bugs on the back and sides of the tank. Knowing that I added the once bleached rock and live Fiji pink live sand only where do you think the bugs might have come from? Oh and I also added tiger pods. But they are red not white. Look at the picture and let me know if you know what they might be! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

titus'reef
I started having this king of spots on the rock. They are blackish and I see some small air bubbles here and there on some spots. What it it? The also grow on the sand. And in areas where the light doesn't hit directly, just from the reflection of the sand and glass I guess. titus'reef
I bought tree hermits grabs with coralline algae on them and another empty shell that was full of coralline and I scraped off the coralline of the empty shell and now look... Almost 2 weeks later. Oh, I also dose coralline purple-CX. Now and than Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
