vanz
You are gonna love the 93! I'm very slow at my build. If only the kids can go to sleep early I'll have more time to work on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kasasah
I saw you are getting the DC12000. Do you know how much flow the overflow can handle? I'd like to get as much as possible.
vanz
The overflow can handle the max output of the jebao 12000 easily. I'd get it over the 6000.

I might not be plumbing the return outside the tank though, that might be a problem. I might consider doing it like you did just to have that extra turnover though... Kasasah
Shimmed the tank and stand tonight. My floor is so slanted the right side has to be shimmed an entire inch+ will this end up being a problem? Do I need to place shims very close for stability? Thanks in advance. CuttleFishandCoral
So did you get it in? How did it go?
Kasasah
She's in and shimmed. It was harder to take apart then I thought and a couple peices cracked. I wood glued them back together and have a little finishing work to do from beating it up lol. But it's solid as a rock! I'm just worried about this extreme shimming... Kasasah
It's coming together! Thanks a lot Jeff! I figured out what that piece for the sump was lol. Super excited for the sand I'm getting!
Kasasah
No advice on the shimming?
Kasasah
Seams before and after. Siliconed some aluminum corner trim that I painted black to make it look better and to reinforce the corner seals. Finished it in flat black. Kasasah
Painted stand and put quarter round trim on.
madmike
I would build a long continuous shim if it were me, having just a few contact points now looks like it will be a problem in the future IMO
vanz
I see you picked up Jeff's display tank. What is in it's place now? Great to see things moving along.

Shims are cheap, no reason not to throw more under there that I can think of.
Kasasah
This shim job was quite the task... It's done though. I did 30 inch shims made from 2x4's with the small shims in place where needed.
