ocboat Posted September 17, 2012 Share Posted September 17, 2012 I purchased 3 bags of this stuff and didn't look at the bag closely enough and now realize that this is not aragonite. It is labeled as inert but doesn't list exactly what it is (it is a very fine white sand). I know it won't give me any buffering properties and that's ok but will it cause any problems? I'm going to guess that it is a silica based sand and there are differing opinions on whether silica sand causes any problems in reef tanks. Has anybody used this stuff? Thanks.
