cellowithgills
I went to Seal Rock yesterday to go tidepooling! Here's the notable catch: Sea Lemon (Anisodoris nobilis) Red Sea Cucumber (Cucumaria miniata) Can't remember this cucumbers name (Mr. Wheeling?) It's tiny and looking like a gum wad And, Northern Cling Fish (Gobiesox maeandricus) I also got some interesting shrimps and sponges. mrwheeling
If the cucumber is white and looks almost sticky it would be Eupentacta quinquesemita. Also known as the white sea cucumber.

CrazyInside
Is it legal to collect from the ocean? Or do you have to pay for a permit or anything?
cellowithgills
I have my Fishing and Shellfish licence which covers everything I collected.

Cirenus
Curious, what temp water are you keeping them in since Oregon's coastal waters tend to be a lot colder. Are you running a cold water tank setup?
cellowithgills
These are at the cold water tanks at Lane Community College. I often collect mussles for them and the Nautilus to feed their starfish and usually collect other cool things when I find them. I think they run their tanks in the low 50's. Cirenus
Very cool was just curious, they are definitely cool looking. I haven't been out to any of the coasts whirlpool spots in way to long, going to go have to head out and take a look.
AquaticEngineer
If you google seal rock' date=' I found him next to the rock islands you can see there.[/quote'] The ones farthest south or the ones you have to climb down the steep dirt hillside to get down to? Was it in the small rock pools or in the water with exposed surf?

AquaticEngineer
ODFW made quite sure that wouldn't happen Thats why I want to know more specifically where it was found, since we can only collect within certain GPS coordinates laid out in our permits. Tell them to check out our website if they are looking for something that they cant seem to find. We have a bunch of stuff in stock and go collecting almost every weekend.
