    RBTA help

Water changes are a good idea to get the water quality up, other than that, do whatever you can to make sure that it is not getting stressed. If it is hiding from the light there is a reason for it. Could be to much or to close for him? As long as he is not bleaching I would not worry to much about him not getting the light, he will move into if he needs it. How long ago did he split? Also, check your basic stuff, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, Ph. Make sure nothing else is going on. If you can get a picture that could help as well.
  3. Can i get pic of the 90g tank?
  4. Looks like diatoms. Could be a cycle? Id check your Ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates.

I am looking for right around 20-25 pounds, do you have any pictures of your LR. And awesome that you live in Redmond as well, will save me on gas =)

    LR

Looking to snag up some more LR for my tank, anyone selling any for a good price?
  8. If you decide to sell some of the items separately let me know, I'd be interested in the LR, crabs and snails.
  9. I am also very interested in your rock of xenia
  10. I am definitely interested in some of your LR. Also how much does your Hospital tank weigh? and how many estimated gallons?
  11. Very cool! Love the Harlequin picture!
  12. What kind of water are you using for your water changes? I know for Central Oregon water, our tap water has a ton of phosphates in it. It was one of the issues I have been having here in Redmond, every time i changed my water, i was adding algae food (po4) right back in.
  13. Very cool! I am like the only person on this side of the mountain =)
  14. I would advise against going into the petco store to buy anything, right now they are seriously understaffed and the people they do have are not very knowledgeable about SW tanks. Went in a couple weeks ago, everything was dead, 2 months before that everything was dead or dying. Its sad because last year they were kicking butt but they lost some good employees =/
  15. in Redmond, we have tropical Oasis, John kicks some butt, what he doesn't have he will order in for you.
  16. I've seen people do the dip method in several different ways, some just dip it once, and usually thats enough shock to make the parasites drop off. Like someone said earlier though this is just to kill the external and not the internal parasites.
  17. Sound advice from everyone, make sure to feed the bacteria, or add 1 hardy fish into it, so that its poop can help the bacteria start growing. That is a good looking tank, and I think a Tiger pistol shrimp + any type of goby combo would look amazing in it. what lights are you using? It looks amazing in that tank. The purple and red fire fish gobies would look amazing under that color.
  18. the PH wont matter since it is a quick dip, you are not holding the fish underneath the water, just dunking in and out once.
  19. As far as your fish go, you can do the dip method to help knock the parasites off before moving them to a different tank, the dip method is essentially a quick dunk in some Low salinity saltwater, the quick change in salinity will cause the parasites to fall off from shock, while not hurting your fish since it is a quick dip.
  20. What do you have as far as substrate goes? Do you have live sand? Crushed coral? If it is live sand, you will never get rid of it unless you, take all fish out, and either wait 2 months, or empty water, and clean the sand, and then refill it, and let it sit for 30 days. Ich will infect your fish, and fill up, then drop to your sand bed to lay eggs, which sit for upwards of 10-60 days. The eggs will not be able to live once they hatch if their is no fish for them to feed off of. They will drop back to the sandbed, and go dormant for 30 days if no food is present before they starve. When rinsing the sand, use non salt water, and make it cold water, it will kill the ich from shock if you go this route.
  21. Will do =) been wanting to go down their and check out his store.
  22. Looking to get a female emerald crab, if anyone knows someone who has one for sale please let me know =) Been trying to find one at my LFS, but he only has males. You can tell a male and female apart by the arrow on their stomachs. The male will have a skinny arrow on his stomach, and the female will have a nice rounded stomach. This will show you what it looks like. I am coming over the pass to Salem this upcoming weekend. http://www.freewebs.com/paintbugsreef/crabs.htm
  23. I got back from work this morning, ( i work graves) and it looks like all the hatchlings got eaten, they almost resembled little shrimp though.
  24. You could always try a Blackfin shrimp goby, they are beautiful. Love my blackfin shrimp goby whom is paired with one of my tiger pistol shrimp
