Hog Head
While feeding the tank I noticed one of my urchins spewing a milky looking substance from an orfice on the top which I assume is it's "rear end". Is it expelling waste or dieing or ???

Hog Head
YouTube urchin spawning and see if that is what it is doing. Well You Tube helped answer that quetion. Now I have four of these Tuxedos in my 100g and Wiki says that they are both sexual and asexual. So that means they can reproduce with the help of the others or just by themselves? Burningbaal
asexual is all by themselves...snail style (most snails), sexual is with others, so yours can go either way theoretically, it is self-limiting based on nutrients available. I wonder if short-spine urchins can reproduce asexually, or I may want to look into a tuxedo...I've got more coraline than you can shake a stick at...a pain in the butt to scrape constantly. if you're heading north and want to get rid of one, I'd gladly take a tux off your hands!
