Gabe
How fast to drill glass? I know to keep it lubed and use a guide hole, but what RPM? Im assuming slow to medium, maybe feel what cuts best. Any input from the experts would be appreciated. Thanks Gabe
wegotjs
I go a fast medium. It didn't seem to make much differance for me. I have a write up on my tank build page.
omarortiz
I am assuming you are using a diamond coated hole saw. So, set the torque low on the chuck. Don't apply much pressure. And, build up to high speed.
Mohaynow
Let the bit do the work and about medium speed. I've never used a guide whole, just start at a slight angle and level out as it begins to cut. and make sure to keep the drilling surface wet, a running hose is your best friend

DiscoLenny
If your looking for inexpensive glass hole saws then........ https://www.glass-holes.com Their larger hole saws in their kit have a guide that you can clamp/tape on your glass. Like said above, trickel from your garden hose. I used my cordless @ slow speed doing an 1 1/4" hole in 1/4" plate in about 10 minutes or so. Gabe
Thanks guys. Drilled my first hole today. 60mm in the side of a 55. Taped a "V" notch guide to the tank and had the hose running across the saw. It was easier than I thought.
