psaprilcruz
Hey so I noticed that I have been getting some hair algae. It just started the past week and one of my hermits was doing a fairly good job keeping it down but now he can't keep up with its growth. I checked the water this morning and parameters were; Alkalinity - 12, calcium - 400, phosphate - 0, nitrate - 0, nitrite - 0, ammonia - 0, ph - 8.1, salinity - 1.024. I feed the fish 1x a day except tuesday. I spot feed everything, and the corals get food 2-3x a week the same way. I thaw the food then rinse it before feeding. I have a hang on filter that is acting as a fuge on the tank also. Can you recommend anything to help. I will hopefully be moving everything to the 20 gallon here in the next few days but if I get the problem on there also I would like to have a better idea of what to do for it. Burningbaal
check your fuge for hair algae, if it's lit, you probably have the hair algae there and it's just pouring out to populate the tank. harvest what you can from the fuge for sure.
