cellowithgills
Any idea what species these are? They seem smaller than T. californicus but they're very similar. They were collected on a beach in Coos Bay. I've been culturing them for a couple of months but I can't seem to get the culture densities of people on MBI so I'm looking for ideas. pledosophy
There are thousands of species of copepods. Without a microscope and some very intense digging it is going to be very hard to get an ID.
cellowithgills
I figure someone could come up with a list of the most likely suspects. I'm also more interested in getting a higher culture density.
ThePremiumAquarium
Most likely a species similar to Tigriopus californicus though it would be very hard to pinpoint exactly which species it is.
steelhead77
Your best bet is to take them to the UofO Science or Biology Dept. and see if they can ID them. If that fails, try OSU Marine Hatfield Science Center, or OSU Extensions, they should be able to help.
NoobtoSalt
how and where do you find these on the beach? Next time I'm out there I would love to scoop up some and try this out as well. I don't care which type they are but sounds pretty cool to be able to do this. My tank is thriving anyways but the more pods the better.
