nelsz3
I just got a dual 250w hqi MH and 4x54w t5 fixture with led moonlights.(rock2) I've got it about 16 inches above the water to start and plan on lowering it a few in every couple of days until the legs sit on the rim. This is what i was thinking of a light schedule moonlights from 6am to 10pm 1st t5s from 730am to 9pm 2nd t5s from 830am to 8pm halides from 1030am to 7pm let me know what yo think
reef165
Thats a good scedual, but the moonlights need to be from 9pm-7:30am, as they will be on all night, but don't need to be on when the other lights are on, oh and if you work days and want the lights on longer while you are home, you can push the light cycle out to fit your scedual!! pnkrcklives
Thats basically the light schedule I run but start mine later and turn them off later due to my work schedule. Yes the moon lights should only need to be on when all the others are off. And run your sump/fudge light on the moon light schedule. That helps keep PH stable
nelsz3
ok thank you so its fine to run the moonlights all night then, cool, is there a good min an max hours i should run the halides? What hqi bulbs should i get as replacments, the ones it came with are yellowish and i would like more of the blueish color
pnkrcklives
I run 20k bulbs on my system. But am going to be trying 14k phoenix bulbs over my cube. Hear it may produce a little more growth without sacrificing all the blue color I like.
coralreefer
Would strongly recommend 250w Phoenix 14k bulbs...not too blue but almost as blue as any 20k I've ever run...I will never switch...best bulb IMO...I've had unbelievable results...reefnjunkie got me hooked...[language filter] it Brad....
