Reefsickness
My question is I know you are not suppose to use copper in a reef system since corals cant take that is the same go for brass?(scratch) http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?28344-ReefSickNess-s-170-Gal-Reef-Build/page5
Reefer503
If I remember correctly, brass is made up of copper and tin. Brass fittings will corrode and kill your livestock.
Trautman
1. there is pretty constant water contact, isnt there? i dont see any valve before the brass fitting. 2. you can get a pvc replacement. it's 3/4 right? go to home depot, get their garden hose to pvc fitting, then slap that sucker to a ball valve, and the ball valve to the t-fitting you should really try to be safe rather than sorry... it is a risky move, everyone i have talked to discourages it
