dippin61
Just wanna make sure everything looks ok. First anemone for us like this, so just want to make sure. Looks a little closed up on one side. Hasnt really opened that side fully yet. But she did move off from her clam shell, to where she is now and hasnt budged. Guess she likes to have her foot wedged down in the rocks. But anyways.. any info is appreciated.

Michael7979
If you just got it it is likely a little stressed. Keep an eye on it for the next day or two. But I think it should be fine.
powdertang05
looks fine normally if it is deflated all the time or most of the day then it is trouble. but it looks perfect if it had its foot stuck on anyting and is not floating and no part of its mouth esxpelling its perfect. looks perfect to me. most anenomes get their food from light so little food is normally needed. dippin61
good to hear. I fed her a few mysis, that she slowly ate. She really doesnt ball up at all, not even at night. She actually opens more at night i think. dont think anything is coming from her mouth, so thats a good sign. thanks guys!
WAVES
it looks like it got cooked at one point to me, did you have a temperature issue at some point? It appears to have expelled lots of its zooanthelle (sp?) so it looks pale. Or a major change in lighting? Id bet its going to be fine, but something pissed it off enough to ditch some zooanthelle. illcssd
Definitly bleached. should be a lot darker of a red. feed it every few days, imo bta's love silversides. at least all the ones we have at the store do. with that and some time and good light and steady parameters it will darken back up. Ron Popeil
the stumpy tentacles should also be much longer....feed that anemone. start with mysis and work your way into larger more meaty foods.
oldbrownies
Definently not bleached, its just the color her and the mother always have been (since I got the mother a year ago). but she does look more closed then when she was in my tank. she would accept half a silverside from me, you might want to see if she will still take one? powdertang05
its normal for an anenome to react to different lighting. i would just feed it mysis as said before every few days and not all anenomes ive owned have been dark i actually have some neon yellow clear ones they have never darkened for years and they eat a silverside every 3 days no probelm and is the size of a 10gal tank easy so i dont think its bleached looks perfectly normal. also especially if oldbrownies said is mother and the clone both look that color had he has had it for a year i would think its going to stay that sweet light pink. dippin61
well.. watched her closely last night after lights out. Went back about an hour later, and she was fully open, except a small part on the foot where it looks a little funny. fed her, and she closed up on it, and took it down happily. then, this morning, lights on, she closed back up to what she looks like in the pic
powdertang05
shes just getting used to the light no biggy
oldbrownies
What kind of light are you running dippin? She was in the shade but the tank is lit by 400 watt 10k MH, and it looks like you have something more like a 20K, maybe its the lighting thats causing her to close in the day because she isn't used to the color? dippin61
ive got the Nova Extreme 4x39w but the tank isnt very deep. only a 46g bow 2x Slimpaq 460nm Actinic 2x 10k We have a little "arch" rock that we could arch over her for a cave if you think it would help? oldbrownies
I think that she might be fine in the full light under the t5's she might just be taking a bit to get used to the color and the light amount. She'll probably will get darker as she adjusts to the lower light level too, since they where hot pink under high wattage halides.
dippin61
we'll be upping her lights very soon
