How fast does Purigen work?

Going to put a bag of Purigen in my filter sock after water change to deal with this cycle so I don't lose any livestock.

 

How quickly does it reduce the organics?? I am going to dose with Amquel Plus as an emergency measure but don't want that to be something I have to do everyday.

I've noticed it starts working right away and in a day or two noticed a huge drop in the amount of organic waste resulting in lower nitrates-I just recentkly started to regenerate it as well which was easy and quite the cost savings
